For all intents and purposes, Malina truly had always been Heyel's daughter at least in one sense: she had a nasty tongue on her at times. It hadn't all just been from nurture. It had been difficult
not to develop such a bite when she had been tormented ceaselessly by Azrael from the moment they had met. Besides, Heyel had instilled it within her from an early age. Or at least, he had unintentionally done so. Often, he would try to discipline it out of her which merely resulted in the issue becoming more of a, well, more of an issue. It had just stuck from there on out. It likely would not change any time soon and she smirked a little, amused, by the male's seemingly displeased reaction. Or at least, he didn't seem so amused. Chances are, she imagined, he had encountered Heyel one too many times to appreciate the fine art of being snarky.
She'd let it go for now, and instead, she turned her attention towards him now with a bit more of a professional approach. His condition had started to become more prevalent, his eyes never seeming to hold a fixed position correctly. They seemed to look through the world - blind, perhaps, or at least half way there at best. It was impressive by all accounts that he had made it here so easily and moved with a very particular kind of grace in itself. It must have been from birth. Nobody who acquired such a condition could move in such a way - she nodded knowingly to herself, continuing to observe him as he spoke. A son of Isola and Kane? Malina could not help but sigh in sympathy, understanding entirely what that meant. It had always been an issue in that family. Everybody was born expectant, at least in some way, and with a fierce competitive streak. If that gene had missed Haziel than he likely had suffered under it as a result.
"I imagine that is why you left Diveen. We are alike in that regard, I suppose. Heyel has a daughter who would much rather see me at the bottom of that ravine, did you know?"
She spoke with a hint of amusement and laughter, picturing Ava and her twisted little grin. Things had happened in Glorall and soon, she assumed Ava would find her way here. Would it stop Malina from visiting? Likely not. She liked the ocean and the sand, anyway. Besides, Ava had never been quite as fast as her. Still, she had her curiosity piqued now. She rocked back to be seated, attempting to make the sound obvious enough without compromising her own grace. She supposed they had quite a bit to discuss, after all, and she'd much rather be comfortable. For now, she'd start with the basics.
"So, you've come looking for me. Seldom come looking for me. I assume you are looking to be trained? Why is that?"
She never said the questions would be easy, but they would show her more of him. She'd gain a better understanding this way and, perhaps, he would too.
