Valentine was relieved to hear the other stallion’s response. After his dealings with Asp when he had ruled the Forest, Valentine had been wary of coming to meet his new neighbour and even warier of trying to come to his agreement with him. But it seemed that Olaf was a much more reasonable man, and for that small victory Valentine was glad. He was content with his quiet life in the Prairie, and with his growing family to look after he didn’t have the time or energy to be constantly at war with his own neighbour. A smile pulled at his pink-white lips, and he nodded his own assent. “I’m glad you agree,” he replied brightly. “I’m sure we’re going to get along swimmingly.” |
