The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. Something about her presence was... comfortable. She knew him in a way that he hadn't thought anyone ever could, not any of the wolves he had ever worked with nor his old boss. Spirit just seemed to anticipate his thoughts and movements, and it was strange in a wonderful way-- Vincent wouldn't want it any other way. Feeling her fur mingle with his gave him the strength he needed as they approached Spirane. He had found a home, a home he thought he would stay in for good. After spending such a long time wandering it seemed like he would never find a home, and when he had, it wasn't long until it was gone.

But sometimes, home wasn't a place. It was a pair of eyes and four paws and a heartbeat. If he was with his soul, Vincent would be happy anywhere. He glanced at her as she took a seat next to him, giving her an affectionate lick on the ear as she rubbed her head over his chest. The brute wanted her to be this close all the time. When she was away from him, it felt like a part of him was missing, like a dull ache in his chest, and it was hard to take. Vincent was glad that he had found Spirit when he did-- he didn't know if he could take losing his home and purpose a second time alone.

He could find a new purpose here, though. The mountains would become familiar as the rolling plains of Asteraia had once been. Vincent's ears flicked forward as the silvery wolfess came into view, his nostrils flared and he picked up hr scent, easily recognizing her as the queen of Spirane before she had even had the chance to introduce herself.

The brute rose as Daenerys approached, his fiery eyes casting a reassuring glance at Spirit before returning to the wolf in front of him. His huge stature would be intimidating if not for his incredibly cool and calm demeanor- somehow he managed to look both strong yet nonthreatening at the same time. One of his many talents, undoubtedly.

Vincent dipped his head as Daenerys introduced herself. Her voice was strong but didn't lack sincerity, and he was glad that his assumptions about her character were so far correct. "Miz Daenerys, it's a pleasure." Vincent rumbled, his tail giving a few friendly wags. "Name's Vincent, and this is Spirit." the brute said, angling his head slightly to indicate the fem sitting beside him.

"Don't agree with the... doctrine of Asteraia's new alpha. It was home, but I couldn't stay somewheres where I didn't trust the wolf in charge. I've heard a lot of good things about you and your pack, so I figured me an' Spirit could find a home here in the mountains." Vincent said with a small smile. It was clear that the way things had turned out pained him, but he was also hopeful about starting a new life in Spirane. "I was, ah, Grand Master there. Oversaw all the warriors. Figure I could help ya with strength-related tasks. And Spirit here is a damn good hunter."
