DO not be fooled; Malikey does not have a soft spot for anybody or anything. Not even the dark haired demoness before him. Within moments, he could attack, shifting from such a serene façade into the monster that he naturally was. Within moments, there could be a fight and blood could go flying in all directions. Within moments, all hell could break loose and he could be feasting upon the flesh of one he might even go as far as calling her, ally . He would kill her, with no remorse and walk away with a smile upon his bloodied palette, his stomach satisfied and his mind perfectly sane. Although this one was different, which was what intrigued the beast to begin with, for the fight within her eyes was not one of mock courage but of truth. If a fight had ever ensued between the two, it would last and in his mind he would feel as if he was fighting a male, a strong, sturdy male with the ability to make Malikye bleed. That is why she is not ignored nor murdered, because to him, she was a male.
HE had heard her words about the one who had dared cross her and the lips upon his face curl backwards for a mere second or too in amusement. He would have liked to see such a fight though the idea of sitting back while anyone attacked Aithne seemed absurd. No one would touch her, nothing would draw near to her in any way if Malikye had anything to say about it. In a way unlike imprinting or love, Aithne had managed to find a loophole to his madness, surpassing the lengths it took to reach such a creature and now, well tragically for her, now in his mind she was his. To say that Malikye has a heart would be such a terrible lie. He was heartless, soulless, completely and utterly empty save for the darkness that accompanies his entire being. Aithne is not a wolf to him, not a creature with a heartbeat but a thing, a thing that for some odd reason mattered greatly and therefor she would not be harmed in any way.
THEN again, he was nothing but evil.
PERHAPS that is why it is so easy for him to snap.
HE stares at her, lips curling back in a sickening snarl as hackles raise slowly, like a curtain to a violent show. Her reaction is as expected; her own hackles rising as her body tenses. In this moment, he does not see Aithne, he sees one who has taken from him a creature he actually respected. Respect, That was a word that didn’t seem to fit in the male’s vocabulary but there it was, and for one it was meant to be; Andras. The demon king had been an equal to the darkness, measuring up to whatever lengths Malikye set for him. And now, now Aithne stood in his place. She flashes her daggers and his eyes narrow, head raising above her own as his canines stare her in the face. A deadly rumble floods the area, flowing from Malikye’s gritted jaws. “He is where last I left him,” And ear shattering roar emits from the bloodied beast, jaws flashing open as teeth glint within the moonlight. His muscles flex, tensing and relaxing, and then tensing again as he seems to fight against his own self. Her mouth is moving, but he cannot hear exactly what she is saying. Crystals stare at her kissers, blinking and breathing, calming himself down. The years have blessed him, granted him gifts he never thought he could possess. He is close to Aithne now, breathing slowly as his body shakes.
…”not as much as you…”
A laugh, or at least that is what it seems like it is, explodes from his jaws, shattering the strange quiet that had occurred moments before. It is harsh, rough like sandpaper, from underuse. Just as quickly as it started, it ceases and the quiet falls upon them like a blanket. Something enters his gaze, something slow and deliberate…sadness. Lilith. Dearest Lilith. She was the reason why Andras and he had come together so soon. Lilith was admired by the wraith, adored actually and Andras could relate seeing how it was his mate. The dark way she lived, Lilith to Malikye was life and now…now..Lilith was gone. Eyelids droop as a new set of craze seems to overcome him. His body shudders, flesh crawling under fur as he grasps the concept of such a thing. Andras. He desired to find him, to…to..what…comfort? No, put him out of his misery perhaps. So many thoughts ring through his head, so many, its overwhelming, these emotions, it is too much to feel when Malikye is not meant to feel. A sound erupts from him, a broken sound that peels away all the joy in the world; a whine. The great beast of gore whines.
“AITHNE,” he presses forward, breaking her circle of trust far too hastily and placing his nose into her shoulder gently. He needs this, needs this brief moment of sanity, normality to realize why he is the way he is. This is why he is heartless. Shadows seem to creep forward, attempting to stroke the emotion out of him as he sits, breathing in Aithne’s scent. “I should never have left.” low tones are whispered and for a moment, Malikye appears vulnerable, and for this reason, after today, he will never speak to Aithne again for the urge to kill her for what he has allowed her to witness today is far too great to fight against. He has given her a gift but at the same time a curse. She will not know that today is a goodbye, a goodbye that should have been said the first time he left her here alone. And he will not tell her.
HE breathes slowly, taking in her all too familiar aroma but then…then…he catches the slight, yet very distinct musk of another. He pulls back as if burned, lips curling back in distaste as he puts at least three feet in between them easily. Eyes scan along her slender and now scarred form as if trying to see the prints of a thief. He stares at her and then nothing, a mask covers his face returning the monster back to his previous, stoic ways. Oceanic pools that were once piercing into her very soul now seem empty, void. The vulnerability and hurt is gone. He is uncaring and the shadows welcome this in haste, dragging along his darkened form and clinging to his flesh. “Who is he?” The question is asked with an indifferent tone, deep baritones smoothly gliding from his mouth to his ears. He knows though, that she will not answer for although he looks perfectly sane and normal now, he is secretly plotting the death of her imprint.
