The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Riot did not know his parents in order to have a clue as to what their mistakes might be, but he figured that they could be great, if they were willing to just throw away their children. It changes nothing for Riot now, because he would make his own path that had nothing to do with them, and he would rise up on his own skills rather than hope a bloodline would help him along the way. Obviously, that was not a possiblity for him now even if he had wanted it. He had been cheated of a real family, of knowing those who should have been there to shape him. Now his shape was something else, something all his own because he had to struggle it out alone. He couldn't really manage a number of stronger feelings because of what he lacked growing up, and Riot sometimes wondered what that could affect someday.

Either way, Riot speaks his piece as he knows of it -- what he had heard Eden saying in the meeting of those in the pack required to pull their own weight and so forth -- and it should work for those who had a problem but could otherwise function just fine. Not being able to hear was more work on a wolf, but if she wanted to survive and excel, then she would learn to deal with it and keep on going. Riot knew that with such issues he wouldn't give up, but then again he couldn't imagine not being able to hear anything. It was his life, really. Being able to learn by word of mouth was a big deal to him, and it would be a type of hell to have it all taken away now. But at birth.. that would have been something to overcome.

Riot nods at the words of Cinder, wondering how that would go and if the deaf one would be able to pull it off. If she tried, she should be able to. And then she was smiling at him, so Riot allows another small smile back at her. Nice to meet him, she was saying, and then asking where else he had been. Riot gave a roll of his shoulders into a shrug. "Everywhere, I suppose. Iromar's turning a better new leaf, and Spirane has good things going for it." And yes, Riot would extol the good parts of both packs if asked of them, and would comment on the others as he had learned of those, too. The more he knew, the better, and maybe Cinder had some things to tell him that he could store away for later use. That was possible.
