the darkness of the caverns held a peace like home for him. He hid here often, trying to let his mind wander in the ways it should, instead of the ways it tended to go now. He wanted something in his life that was worthwhile, something that meant a great deal, that wouldn’t run away at the slightest hint of wrong. He was getting up there in age, and when his father was half his age, he had abaddon and seren to raise. In a way he felt as if he was possibly failing his parents by not passing on the genetics. He felt a bit of a void, in that aspect. When he thought of his family, it saddened him. Seren had been absent for a few years now, and it worried him, wondering where she had gone off too. He missed his little sister, even though as they grew up they had grown apart.
The darkness within the grotto was a silent comfort, and he leaned into the cave wall, dark blue eyes shut to the world as he tried to relax the twinge out of his shoulder. His peace was shortly interrupted when the scent of a female swept through the twisting caves. She smelt of no one but herself, meaning she wasn’t belonging to a pack, or a male for that matter. Most boys, they’d be salivating at the opportunity to be near a female in heat, but to be honest, in his eleven years, he’d walked past many females in winter and it didn’t bug him a bit anymore. He’d only be interested if he was interested in the girl before-hand. He wasn’t about to get his rocks off before knowing who she was.
His eyes slowly opened, narrowing as he spied and equally black femme before him. She seemed a bit pissed off, to be honest. He rumbled deep within his chest, an attempt at a comforting sound, a soothing sound, at that.
“Woah there, no need to be on the defensive, sweets.”
His voice was gruff, but it had a husky aspect to it, to most, it was soothing, lets see how she took it, eh? Hopefully she wouldn’t harangue him with a tedious speech, he wasn’t in the mood to be lashed at, no, quite the opposite.
