Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

They weren’t so different really in terms of personality at least. Their lives had been vastly different yet here they were both curious creatures that were trying to understand the world in completely different ways. Time would give them both the answers they needed but right now they had each other to talk to and get to know. Her tail waed lightly as his own did, looking into his eyes that were really quite pretty. He was a good looking boy to be sure, but her heart and soul were both spoken for. She was unsettled in her ways, Lucero was still grieving the loss of his mother and it was soon discovered his father had been lost as well. She felt horrible for him and feared for the fate of her own parents once the time would inevitably come that she too would be losing her mother. It wasn’t about her, she knew that, but his father was healthy, had the loss of Rhae been so terrible that it literally had killed him?

There was so much to weigh on her mind, so much she could think about but she just wanted to enjoy the warm winter day. Soon enough spring would be here and soon enough she would get to meet the little bundle of joys that were inside of her. Of course Zeltzin would be excited and nervous, they were her children her and Lucero’s children. They would carrying on his family’s legacy she was certain as well as her own. Good lines to carry and ones to be proud of as well. She smiled slightly, her tail giving a few waves as her mind slowly turned from herself and back to the slightly younger boy that stood before her happy to have someone’s company even if she didn’t know them well. Perhaps she took after her father in that, he seemed to do wonderful in all sorts of company and she did as well. As she speaks to him she notices the look on his face become intense as if concentrating. It confused her at first, but she knows something is more different about him something that goes beyond the surface and she desires to understand.

His first words begin to make it click. The loud drawn out words so easy to tell that maybe, while he spoke slowly that his mind was sharp. He couldn’t hear, something that came flooding back into her mind as he gave his name. She knew exactly who he was. How couldn’t she? Her mother had been at the birth had tended to Zeteri and the pups and in time found out that they had some of the most basic things robbed from them. Speech and hearing. Zeltzin thought she could do without talking, actions spoke louder than words after all, but hearing? She felt bad for him and felt bad for forgetting him. She had never met him before, though she had his sister a time or two.

”I am really sorry, Yoska! I know who you are, we never met face to face, but I heard a lot about you-“ She cut herself off as she realized what she had said looking sheepish before giving another apologetic smile before shutting herself up for the moment. ”I am sorry, you are Tuari’s brother, yes?” She spoke a little more slowly this time, obviously he could understand her speaking if he was able to reply and she was more than happy to slow down to make it a bit easier for him. What was more was what he continued to say looking her dead straight into her own fiery colored orbs leaving her to blink in bemusement before embarrassment fell over her.

He could tell she was lonely? Was it that obvious? But what was more she watched as his hazel eyes moved to her stomach and at that she grew a little self-conscious, sitting up so that her sides didn’t bulge out so much and shifting slightly. ”Well… um.. no you’re here now, it’s nice to have good company.” She says happy that maybe her tones, sounding guilty and embarrassed as she was not capable of reaching his ears. Though like her father she was hardly good at hiding it from her features. Was that obvious too? Or because of his deafness was he more keen to noticing such things. He seemed playful if not friendly about it and she wasn’t entirely sure why she was embarrassed about it, maybe it was because they were not mates, officially at least and that her parents were together. They were happy though, not upset but perhaps it was because she was a little upset herself that maybe it was because Lucero wasn’t around to experience this happiness in his grief.

”I guess your right tough, I won’t be able to be alone for quite some time I think.” She says trying to giggle though really she wondered about it all. Would he come back in time? Should she try harder to find him? She continued frowning slightly but then looked back up to the brown almost adult boy before giving another smile and a reassuring wave of her tail. Zeltzin couldn’t be that sad, she had so much to look forward too, but her worries still weighed so heavily upon her.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
