Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

It had been an instinctual move to begin to readjust his position so that he might better be able to initiate action. After all, he felt something uncanny about the boy the moment he had seen him, or at least the moment he had been able to get a very good feel for him. Something seemed... off, and Tesseract had a feeling such an offness would not be in his interest. In fact, the boy smelt vaguely of salt and sand - a lethal combination with all things considered. Still, he did his best to shift without it being all that obvious. He maintained eye contact as he did so, his head level as his limbs twisted about beneath him, his muscles bunched now and all too prepared to send him backwards and away from any teeth. He had started to adapt to the idea that from now on, he didn't exactly have the best protection. For whatever reason, even Rogue had disappeared into the fray. She had always been there to aid him and yet, he had a sneaking suspicion now would have been the exact kind of time he'd need aid.

The tension between the two could not be ignored. It was cold and yet, all too ready to ignite. Tesseract had locked onto the boy's gaze, and he subconsciously followed it - for some time, the silver boy had been interested in his leg it seemed. So, he had to consider, it would likely be the first place he'd lunge for if he had any intentions on turning this into a scuffle. If that were the case, at least Teseract would have the opportunity to stop him mid-lunge - by the throat, hopefully. He hadn't the patience for any of Glorall's new cronies. The boy's words, however, brought a sharp laughter from Tesseract. He rose, then. Slowly but surely, he came to his full height, looming over the boy. He spoke then, his voice a hiss almost, his lips turned up into a smile most unusual.

"You think? You are but some foolish child, speaking down to those you actively choose to underestimate. Do you think you are the only one to look for weakness?" His voice had a most unusual cadence, almost resonating with the sound of amusement as he stared down into the boy, almost daring him forward. "Little brats like you have been seeking out kings for years. Arlo? Rhoedias? Sulan? Ring any bells? No? Want to know why, child? Because they were little brats like you, and nobody remembers those that talk a game bigger than they can play."

His eyes narrowed, refusing to move from the smaller boy and yet, they refocused every so often onto the contour of his body. He watched for any sign of movement, any little muscle twitch but most of all, he watched for any sign of weakness. Perhaps Tesseract become complacent. He had always considered the opportunity. His ambitions had changed drastically since he had been a young upstart and yet, he could still remember the taste of such fire. He could feel it between his teeth as they bared down on one another, as if caged in by his desire to see this boy's retort. Of course, they could not withstand the pressure the moment he mentioned Cersei. Instead of lashing out like he so desired, however, Tesseract's features sunk back into an amused grin.

"You will have legacy some day, too, boy. If you do not kill me now and I find news of my daughter having fallen, then I am sure your legacy will be much easier to cull as they wriggle around blind and pathetic. One by one until you dry up and no more cane come." He paused, his muscles coiling beneath his skin as he settled once more, his weight shifted once more. He could feel his tail instinctively arch behind him ever so slightly, his legs rigid in defense and dominance. "Got what you needed yet?"

He spat his final words, feeling a rage build within him. He had thought that maybe, he might have been able to leave without having resorted to some kind of violence and yet, he had begun to doubt it. Even if he wanted to, he felt an almost overwhelming desire to chew into the boy. Perhaps he had more frustration left over from his failure, after all. Still, it would have been easier if they had both come to some kind of... mutually acceptable way of departing. For now, however, he had to be prepared.
