You can't break me

Soft warm light filters through the trees, dancing gently upon the blossoming earth. The dark dragon had been wandering this forest for weeks. Watching the cold, barren landscape that melded so well with his dark, angry heart fade away into soft leaves and cushiony ground. Birds swooped and sang blissfully, butterflies flitted here and there. Delicate wildflowers dotting the horizon, mushrooms and moss eating the soft earth up hungrily. It was beautiful. And Hurricane hated it. It filled his dark heart with a quiet seething rage.
Hurricane longed for the crisp air winter had brought. Harsh winds and angry snowstorms. The skies were dark and for once the would be king had felt at home. And suddenly, the cold harsh environment he had grown so attached to, vanished. Replaced with blooming flowers and singing birds and worst of all, other wolves. They were everywhere. Desperate, decrepit females, and hormone driven blundering males filled the earth. Hurricane wanted nothing more than to sink his teeth into their jugulars and... No.
Hurricane set that thought aside, he was stoic, cold, unreadable. After his encounter with that girl at the river he had decided, no more of this nonsense. Hurricane knew who he was, and the fact he thought he had forgotten was ridiculous. Suddenly a loud crack filled the air. "Shit" he muttered softly as the entire forest went silent. He was on his place to the one place he could still take solace, the Lake. While it was true the lake was generally crowded, if Hurricane approached quietly enough, the dark gladiator could manage to slip into the icy water without a soul noticing him.
However as soon as Hurricane broke through the brush, not only did he know for a certainty he had been spotted, but his stomach lurched. The wannabe king stopped dead in his tracks and took in the petite bird before him. Hurricane's cold mask dropped briefly in shock, and disbelief for a split second before the words tumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them.
"It's you."
