The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Return to Lunar Children

The world will end in fire

She was swelling and growing larger with each winter day. She remembered this happening once before, long ago, and ripped from her flesh was two pups some time later. She was capable of putting two and two together, although the reason why it happened was still unclear. She knew that the increase in her size almost meant the increase of her hunger. She needed to feast more often, and she needed the energy that her body was craving.

As she loped through the grasses that had grown since snow, she was aware of all the scents in the air. She had not come across a good target as of yet, and her shadow was not with her at this time. She let her haunting red eyes look around, and as she did the air taunted her with the scent of something she had grown rather attached to. Her motherly instinct kicked into gear, her attention risen to great heights. She had seen the girl here before, and was given food. Perhaps, the girl would have a meal, or perhaps she could find the girl and lure her to hunt together. Two wolves could bring more effect, as she had learned with the shadow. She was not of a broken mind like the shadow she shared her company with. She was simply a creature grown in different circumstances, intelligent and cunning, and perfectly capable of using logic in this world. She simply...did not have the words to put it all together.

She follows the scent, part of the female excited to see the younger girl again...but something was not right as she moved closer. She heard the sound of a battle and the smell of blood hitting her like a splash of water to the face. It was the blood of the girl, and her teeth clenched as her heart raced. A rage activated every bit of muscle in her body. She turned on her speed and agility, using her lithe body to move in and see the white huntress upon the dark girl whom Flare considered her own. The scent of her blood drove her mad, remembering the lifeless body of the boy who was once hers not too far from here. She was not about to allow the dark girl to become a lifeless body along with him.

Like a demon mother protecting her child, she barrels towards the attacker with a powerful aura to her. She was a fright when angered, with her fur touched with red and with a thick black eyeliner around her blood born eyes. She was like flame burning the world to the ground, making the world nothing more than cinder as she went in for her attack. The white attacker had hesitated, and Flare knew never to hesitate or question, as it never ended well.

Her form slammed into the attacker full force, attempting to knock the female off of the dark girl. She would attempt to keep her down if she succeeds in knocking her over, her jaws parted to latch onto the top of the neck, in between the shoulder and head. Her head would shake and ravage, and she would sink her teeth in as a punishment to any who dare hurt what was hers. She would be relentless in her attack, her rage fed by death that she had seen and also by the hunger that was raging in her belly. Her growl rumbled like thunder, as she attempted to rip skin before she made her next attack, her form constantly pressing into her and forward, her jaws would aim for their next spot based on the attackers movements, as she will surely run or fight back. The dark girl was not forgotten, and yet not her focus in this moment, as her threat... was not yet neutralized.
