Soft alabaster paws kiss the earth gently, paw steps moving slowly, and delicately through the forest. Perhaps to some this peridot castle was a quiet place. Tall trees with thick, luxurious branches woven carefully together. The spring birds with their soft singing and chirping filling the air with their excitement of the arrival of this warm, almost murky weather. There was also the soft humming of frogs and flittering of large, silky butterfly wings. And December heard it all, to her the soft shh of new spring leaves brushing together and the blades of grass bending beneath her paw pads was deafening. The tumult of sound attacked her trilaterally shaped audits and the earthen hued lass flickered her them softly, soft brown eyes taking in the forest before her presence.

This place had grown beautiful in the slowly passing months. As the moon rose and set across many nights, the cold stark ground she had started her journey along had faded into lethargically into mud and soft, velvety spring moss. Now as this slender dancer traveled cautiously amongst the emerald and jade hues of the forest. Tall welcoming trees casting dark shadows upon the ground, the earthen hued puppet melting perfectly into the ever warming landscape. Bumblebees and humming birds flitter and tumble back and forth keeping the ever moving wolfess company amongst the long journey she had undertaken. Young, plump rabbits and squirrels had recently begun to scamper about, easy for catching, and alas, even better for eating, especially because this brave wolfess had a particularly difficult winter, and her sturdy form had slimmed significantly.

Now, however, the young woodland toned marionette found herself perhaps, slightly lost. The ever welcoming forest had shifted around her suddenly, becoming denser, darker, as if violent, angry storm clouds had covered the earth within an instant. The lass flickered her ears hesitantly, tilting her coal hued sniffer in the direction of the sky, breathing in slowly, taking in the timberland upon which she stood. This area reeked of blood, and wolves, this place had a king. This area, was an army. Abendrot.

Dawn of December had heard whispers of this place, fearful rumors spread like menacing stories meant to keep young children from wandering off. This forest was hell and the king, was mad. The large boned wolfess moved forward slowly, almost perhaps hesitantly as she approached his border, cautious, however unafraid. Impeccably timed a sharp command filled the air "Abendrot. Report!" The slender danseuse paused mid-step. she did not want to approach this commander empty handed. She was strong, and talented, and this ess did not want to be underestimated by this arctic king.

The female canine turned upon her paws, leaving the border to this darkend land behind her plain brown frame, moving softly, quietly through the thick woodlands. This brave marionette needed a gift. Something to display the potential she offered this leader. And so the slender danseuse plunged into the forest greenery once more, creamy paws moving softly, however hurriedly. December knew not what great item she sought to impress this regal gladiator, until it fluttered softly into her peripheral vision. Soft wings hovering perfectly in the warm spring air, a small creature flitting easily from flower to flower. A hummingbird would do nicely. December lowered herself softly to the earth, the hairs upon her belly brushing the damp soil softly, watching. Waiting. Slowly the wolfess moved carefully toward the delicate creature, her large trilateral audits pinned softly against her cranium as she approached the silent creature.

The young ballerina paused, her large muzzle inches away from the target, watching silently, calculating cautiously before the bella hurtled her frame into the air, snatching the delicate bird from the spot upon which if hovered so precariously and tumbled softly to the earth. December gripped the tiny animal carefully, cautious not to cause any further damage to it's petite form. If the lass could not impress this king by bringing him a live hummingbird, perhaps he was insatiable. The quiet lass was aware of the time that had slipped away from her. Cursing herself silently the girl turned around and bounded hurriedly back toward the packlands, back toward abendrot.

When the wolfess arrived upon the border she tilted her nose to the sky, she had not yet missed the meeting. Crossing the border bravely the lass trotted toward the small cluster of wolves, she did not want to appear desperate, however she knew her lack of appropriate timing was ultimately disprespectful, and so the lass approached meekly, her small gift still locked firmly between her jaws. The wolfess paused, lurking in the shadows, waiting for the king to finish his speech before she stepped forward. Bowing out before him first, the forest hued wolfess streched herself out before this arctic knight, and then, setting the small bird down and placing her paw upon it.

"Forgive me, for I am late. However I hope this will make you reconsider banishing your servant" the girl spoke softly, however unafraid, gesturing toward her paw December lifted it slightly, showing off the unscathed, still living little bird.
