Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion
Luk
(Two) (No Imprint) (No Mate) (Loner) |
He was lagging behind. While his paws dragged him forward, following behind Dad, his mind was far away. He thought about the last time his saw his mother, Zeteri. He and Amutaq had begged her to come to her sense, to return back to Taviora with them but she refused. The giant black and gold wolfess had said she needed her freedom, she needed to find herself and she wasn’t going to find it in Moladion. Luk felt his heart break. How could she say such a thing? Weren’t the lives of her own children important to her? Did she not care about them anymore? Tears filled his eyes as he watched her snap at both himself and Dad as she tried to chase them away. Then, she turned her back on them and walked away. Bi-colored eyes gazed up at the black male, pleading for him to go after her. To drag her back! But he didn’t. He stood there like a fool and watched the love of his life go. Anger began to boil inside of Luk’s breast. Anger and confusion. He couldn’t follow his mother and he was still too young to make it on his own. He had no choice but to follow Amutaq back to Taviora. The trip was long and in that time very little was spoken between the two. In that time, the anger Luk felt towards Zeteri began to flow to his father. It festered inside of him. He knew that his time with his family was coming to an end. His thoughts went to his siblings then. The silent trio. Would they understand why their own mother hadn’t come home? Would they feel the same pain and anger he felt? Soon he would find out. Sooner rather than later. Before he know it, they had found themselves back at Taviora’s doorstep. The child watched as his father moved easily past the scent makers. But he hesitated. The tall trees had always been home. They had kept him hidden when danger loomed and kept him cool when the sun was too hot. However, they felt different somehow. There were memories here. Over that bend was the log Mom had used to teach him how to pounce on prey. She was the best hunter he knew and had even held the rank of Head Hunter. Tears began to form in his eyes again but he refused to let them fall. He could not stay here. It was then he knew that this was not going to be a reunion for him. It was a farewell meeting. He held back quietly as his siblings greeted their farther. The ever careful Yoska held back but Tuari bolted forward to greet Father. His littermate, Jinan, held back behind their older brother. Luk felt his heart being pulled in two. He had been born with the silent male and would always have a stronger bond with him more so than the others. He looked so nervous, so unsure of what to do. Luk gave a quiet whimper and moved past Tuari and Amutaq. He nodded his head at Yoska, and stood before his brother. No words were spoken for they would be useless. Instead, with tears glazing his eyes, he simply licked Jinan’s nose and gave a small, sad smile. |
THE FOREST RANKS |
THE GRAVEKEEPERThe Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.THE KEEPER OF SECRETSThis will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.THE KEEPER OF TRUTHSThis rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.THE FOREST COUNCILTHE TUSKSThe packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.THE JAWSThe packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.THE HORNSThe packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.THE EYESThe packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.THE DARKDWELLERThis is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.THE SOOTHSAYERThis is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.NIGHTWATCHERSOur trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.DAWNSTRIDERSThe most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.DAYLIGHTERSThis group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.DUSKWALKERSRumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.ANCIENT PINESThese wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.THE BRIAR PATCHThis is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.THE SAPLINGSToo big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.THE WELCOMEDThese wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.THE BANISHEDThey are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.THE SACRED TOMBSOur brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ... |
