aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

You May Be a Coward, but You’re Not Stupid

Fear coursed through the young brute’s veins as he was carried by the kalak through the trees to his new “home”. He still did not understand why his mother was bringing him somewhere else and did not want him anymore. But really he couldn’t blame her. Who would want a weak, frightened, disappointing, sad excuse for a varg like him? Another whimper escaped the brute as waited to see where he would end up for the rest of his life. After a little while the brute began to doze off as he gently swayed in the jaws of the femme that had adopted him and his siblings. He woke up when Shae put him on the ground though, and the fear continued to grow in his small form. When his pale gray orbs looked around it appeared like any other part of Blossom Forest. Thick brush and trees surrounded the pair as Tarly laid his body on the ground, always trying to hide himself from the world. Shae stepped back a little before lifting her maw to the air and letting out a loud call. The brujo flinched when the piercing sound reached his sensitive audettes, wishing that he could just go home with her and be back with his sisters.

The brute assumed that Shae would stay with him until someone else came, surely someone would come to help look after him. Even though he was no longer as helpless a newborn, he still was too young to hunt or defend himself. If she left him here by himself he knew that he would not make it more than a few days. The thought of being left utterly alone terrified him more than the thought of meeting a stranger and his small form began to shake as the kalak took a few more steps away from him. Tarly heard her voice though and knew she was still there and was able to calm down slightly. The thought of some strange lupine coming still caused fear to be the overwhelming feeling in the pup.

It was not long before the sounds of an approaching being reached his ears, and he looked behind him, gray orbs wide with fear and uncertainty as he looked towards his mother, glad that she was still there even if he was not physically touching her as he would prefer. A large, black female approached the pair, and Tarly turned his attention back on her, trying to determine if she would be nice or not. He always assumed the worst in everything and could only think that the female was not one to be trusted, and so the uniquely marked brute went back to hiding himself in the grass.

The strange ess addressed Shae, and Tarly hoped that he had avoided her attention. “Shae. It is good to see you again. You called me for something?” The brute’s fears were realized though when her gaze was directed at him. He stared up at her, waiting to see what she would do. He was surprised when she gave him a sincere and warm looking smile. He did not understand why she would be kind to him, she did not know him and owed him nothing. He was not sure if it was a good sign or if she was just trying to trick him and make him trust her before doing something terrible. The brute remained silent, waiting to see why Shae had called this femme, wondering what she had planned now. He knew that she wanted him to live here, but why had she called someone specific? This black female did not seem to be the alpha from what his mother had taught her about packs, so why her? When the kalak spoke again the words shocked him.

“Hello dear… I have something… or rather someone for you to meet. Your son.” His black striped head whipped around to look at the femme behind him before quickly turning back to the stranger in front of him. He did not know what to think anymore. Wasn’t Shae his mother? Didn’t she raise him and his sisters as her own? He did not know much about the real world yet, but he thought that’s what made her his mother, but maybe he was wrong. He knew nothing about the femme before him and did not know how he was supposed to trust her as he trusted Shae. But if he could trust one lupine, maybe he could grow to trust another? Shae’s wrods echoed in his head, that she loved him and would visit him, and the love and trust he had in her gave him some strength, he did not want to disappoint her. He remained silent but forced his body off the ground, trying not to let his new…mother…see him tremble. Tarly forced the fear down as he swallowed hard, forcing his dry mouth to speak. ”H…hello…my…my name is…T…Tarly.” He felt like he had fought some hard battle just to force the five words from his throat, and he tried to look up at the femme without too much fear on his features.
