Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Solitaire had to try to offbalance the male, even though Sinclair was more solid than he was. The try had failed and he figured he learned more about himself in that moment as well, and he could take all of this learning to heart. It would be good for him to have more understanding of fighting, to know how to use what skills he had or could learn to his advantage. He might not want to be a fighter for his skill set, but he also knew it couldn't hurt to learn all that could be taught to him, either. Solitaire wanted to be able to advenge his mother if ever the chance arose, so that was something that would press him to want to learn more. And if his attempts to be noticed for a rank didn't work out, then Solitaire wanted to be at least able to fight for the rank he wanted if that was the only way he could get it. He was a newer pack member, after all, so perhaps the scales would not be tipped in his favor by just doing things.

He had to be practical about how life could go, and this was how he meant to do that. Learn all that he could when it was being offered to him. Solitaire did realize that it was speed over strength of weight that would take him where he wanted to go, if anything did. The last attacks hadn't done much, but he had to deal with a sore shoulder and stinging paw, and that was enough for now. It did not make him rethink his want to keep learning by any means, because he told himself he would push on through it to get by. He was made of tougher stuff and would gain more scars if he needed to prove it. Whatever it took to keep his place here, to be seen as worthwhile to have within the pack. That was what Solitaire wanted the most. To stay here, to be around where his brother was, because it was Tristan who was glad he was here. That was enough, that was what mattered.

Waiting and watching his instructor, Solitaire went over the moves in his mind to remember them for a later time. He doesn't know if there would be one, but he was hopeful that he could continue to practise. It was needed; he knew that much already. Yet he could detect some approval from Sinclair's look at him, and that helped him feel better, even though he needed work on a few things. When the words came, Solitaire felt proud, glad that he had something like that to back him up. He gives a little nod. "My father Cobryn was a sort of warrior from what I've been told." He replied, beaming at the thought of his father. Solitaire was glad that he had gained some of that, since he mostly looked like his mother. Then again he honestly hadn't thought on who he looked like build-wise, but probably a bit of both. He was pleased by that, though.

Sinclair was continuing to speak now, telling him what he could work on, what he did good in. He still wanted to puff with pleasure at knowing he had something to work with, but he kept himself calm and unmoved to proceed in listening to Sinclair. Never get caught. He had to keep that one in mind, not liking the idea of being a ragdoll. Solitaire nodded his head to this, keeping it in thought. More advice an he soaked it all in, wondering if it was enough to keep going with, or if it wouldn't be a good place to go. He felt as if he had mixed messages on the matter, to be honest. His brows furrowed at the last question, because there was a complex answer to that, he thought. "I do want to become good at fighting, but it wouldn't be the rank path I would take, unless I was good enough to try it..." He said, because he would still want to go where the skills were.
