Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

This was my moment; I had been given the chance to prove myself and I'd done just that. As our voices rose to call out to the pack, I glanced sideways at Frostbite to one side of me and Solitaire and Tristan to the other. This moment was just as much theirs as it was mine, and I was so pleased with the way things had ended up. As we sang, I started to feel the throb of a rising bruise in my shoulder, where the seal had launched himself into me. While we howled together, I took a brief moment to reflect on the hunt. I'd certainly learned something from it, but I'd also proven not only to my pack but myself that I could think on my feet. When my initial strategy had not worked, I'd adapted my methods and tried again. For the independence my mother's had taught me, I would be eternally grateful. Our song began to come to a conclusion, but before the last notes were sung another voice added to ours. It was laced with arrant power, the strength of a natural alpha. Completing the call, my head lowered and my attention locked upon Eden as he approached. My tail continues to wag, pleased with how everything had gone and that Eden would join us in our victory. Only when his attention shifted to the other members of the hunt did my gaze wander, searching up and down the beach for other members of the pack. Would no one else come? I had thought that maybe he would come, and for a second I felt my heart drop in my chest, until I felt my alpha's gaze upon me once more.

What mattered was those of us that were here, the might we had showed and our ability to bring down some of the most dangerous prey available to our pack. My ears pricked forward at Eden's praise, meeting his gaze long enough to give an affirmative nod of my head before my eyes lowered from direct contact with his in a sign of respect. I would gladly meet with him if that was what he wished. Even though the hunt had not gone off without a hitch, I was proud of the way we had handled things. It was the smile that creased his features and the wave of his tail that made my heart swell once more with pride. He was impressed with what we'd done! I no longer cared if anyone else came to share in the feast with us - Eden was impressed!

He moved to stand among us, one of us in a way that I'd never experienced with Tesseract. It bolstered my sense of wellbeing, knowing that I really did have a place amongst this pack. And at his word I turned, moving towards the belly of the beast before lowering my jaws and making the first tear into the seal with intent to consume. Though my tail still swung out behind me, my ears pricked forward happily. I may have been the leader of this hunt, but each of my pack mates that had participated in the hunt was just as worthy of the first bite as I was. Still, once I broke through the layer of meat and fat I reached the innards, the youthful pride of my gaze transformed into that of hunger hinted with a bit of ferocity. I latched onto the liver and dragged it from the body cavity, feasting upon that delicacy as my pack mates moved to join me in the feast.
