The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

I know he must be as shell shocked as I am but I won't let that stand between us. With as much history as we have behind us, I'll be damned before I let ANYTHING stand between us. I find myself stalking his scent tonight, looking for the shadow warrior of my dreams, the only one who could get under my skin and over the barrier I meticulously constructed to keep others at bay. I don't call for him because that's too needy, too basic. No, I'm a hunter and stalking is more my cup of tea. I use the darkness to my advantage because even in the darkest shadow, white can turn to black. The only thing that could give me away is my bright blue and green eyes, my tail lashing against my flanks as I trail his scent. I know I'm getting closer. And then I see him just up ahead. I can't tell what he's doing but that hardly matters. He has other things to think about, me namely.

I clear my throat just loud enough to catch his attention and when he looks at me, I give him a playful wink and flick my tail, an invitation if you will. Knowing he'll follow, I turn and take off, racing across the forest floor, dodging and dashing over logs and around trees, a cruel giggle in my wake as I glance back to make sure he's right on my heels, as I know he will be. My skin ripples with anticipation of his bite, my eyes dancing like fire flies as I veer off to the right to change it up a little and make way for the stream. I launch right into the cold water, sending water up with a splash as I sprint forward and follow the stream for a little while, kicking up water with every stride. When I know he's just about beside me, I veer off again, only to slow down and suddenly put on the brakes, spinning neatly on my heels to face him before I charge forward again. This time I launch myself at him, aiming to warp my fore legs around his neck and send us both rolling. I don't even care who ends up on top because I know either way, I'll get what I want.
