“I’m sorry your Father is insufferable. If you want I could go with you? I’m sure since you’re an Angel and I look like a Demon his attention will be on me rather than you. I’d do anything to see my Mother again, you should try to see her.”
My words are spoken softly as I turn my ebony skull in his direction. I caught the note in his voice when he spoke about his Father. I do not know why he would be in an uneasy relationship with his own creator, but really it isn’t my business. I do notice how he lowers his head in shame as he mentions his Mother and how he wishes to see her. I know for me personally I’d do anything to see my own again, but she did not want me and well, I can’t change that. Though I would like to help my friend out with his own burdens. He is part Angel, this I was told, and I am sure if his Father gives him such a terrible time then his attention would go to me. I am an Iromar girl, born from the Servitor, and I am sure my markings would help play the ‘I’m a Demon.’ I could use it to Starfalls’ advantage and allow him the chance to visit with his Mother. Everyone deserves to see their Mother. If I need to deal with his Father just so he can be happy then I don’t mind doing such a thing. As begins to take a closer look within my home I turn my eyes towards the entrance of my cave as I peek through the willows waving branches. A small grin manages to creep on my façade as I let out a light chuckle pleased to hear he is willing to come back.
“Yes, I think that would be best if you did, but I’m glad you’d like to come back.”
It pleases me greatly that he is willing to come over. I would be happy to have him come when Spring arrives. It would be much warmer, but it will still be difficult to walk. After all the mud will get thicker thanks to the rains and humidity. Even though I have his blessing to eat the avian I still feel a little bit out of place. It is still rude to me, but if he insists then I shall eat. As I begin to dig into my meal, using my russet paws to pull part of the birds’ body in order to expose the tasty meal, I eat it silently. For some wolves being among them in silence is really tense, but not with Starfall. As I continue to eat my meal my russet trimmed ear flicks as I hear him mention something about using feathers for bedding.
“Feathers? I’ve never tried that before, but I would be happy to accept some feathers from you. Here is a beaver skins…they are perfect to use at the front of your den to repel the water should it rain.”
I never thought feathers would be comfortable items to lie on. Although I do not doubt his belief. I am pleased to hear he is willing to do something for me, a kindness, to provide me something he does for himself. I find his generosity odd, rare, but extremely appreciated. He was the first one to ever provide me with a gift, it is a dead bird, but a gift nonetheless. I am not sure what I can give to him, but I must do something. As I turn my dial left and right I catch sight of the latest beaver skin I had peeled awhile back. Stretching my neck I grab the tawny hide and drag it over and place it between us, nudging the skin closer as if to give it to him – the beaver skin. It is the least I can do since he was willing to bring me the food. I return to my meal and as I finish it I lick the side of my muzzle quite satisfied. Turning my head in his direction I give him an easy smile.
“I have to go to your pack lands with two of our pups. You’ll come see us when we arrive, yes? It would be nice to see a friendly face as I meet more members of your pack.”
