Riot wanted to show some of what he was capable to the pack, since he was of a mindset that this place was very possibly where he should be. He just needed to make sure, and he figured that it was good to let the Iromar members have an idea on what kind of creature he was. That he would hunt with them, would keep in mind their needs and the good of the pack as a whole. He might not be great at understanding youngsters, but he would work on that, too. He was not any kind of misanthrope by any means, he simply did not always understand his own kind. But he was willing to work on that, on any shortcomings that he might have. He could learn the basics of fighting here, maybe healing and whatever else should be done. He had learned that sometimes skill be damned if one could fight, and that alone had Riot a little concerned. Gaining a spot here might be meaningless if he could not fight to defend it, and if anyone could just ignore tasks and fight, well.. Riot would have to learn how to re-prioritize.

For now, he had his sights set on recovering the gator meat that was too close to sinking in the mud. If it was something that they could salvage, at least. Riot wasn't sure at this point, but if risking death wasn't a certainty, then he would go for it. If risk of death was just possible, than sure, he would try it out if he though it was worth it. Much meat seemed to be worth the risk, for now. At least if he had some help in pulling the gator up. Though Riot figured the thing wasn't going to live long stuck under the mud. Wouldn't it suffocate? Yet gator was new to Riot, and he had no clue as to how long one of them could hold their breath. His attention returned to Avery when she spoke, and he huffed with amusement, not intending to give up before he had tried. Still, he was in a good mood and hoped that gaining more food in his belly would only keep it that way. So to the gator he went, taking his time in trying to clamp down on the tail at the right moment before he began to pull.

Then Avery was there, latching on as well and helping him to pull the creature up from the mud. It was difficult, and he had to use as much of his muscle mass as he could to pull and follow Avery's lead in how she was going about movement and pulling. Riot kept his movement with the tail, realizing already that the gator wasn't about to just give up and suffocate under there. It made him wonder if they should let it go, because facing a very much alive gator? Riot wasn't so sure about that idea. But it was much to late to have second thoughts once the gator was helping them to pull it out of the mud. When Avery gives him a look and lets go of the tail, Riot does the same, jumping back and away from the creature. Avery's words had him on edge, but he would follow her lead and hope that this wasn't a terrible idea. "Just tell me where to go and what to bite at." He responded, getting ready to do what must be done, so long as Avery thought that they had a chance. She was the one who lived in these circumstances, after all.
