Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

I think she bit my shoulder, I’m not really sure, something hurt and yet my shoulders and ruff are perhaps the least important part of the anatomy- considered warning shots amongst those of assassin breed as opposed to any real attempt at damage. That’s not to say it didn’t hurt, it did, yet it was hardly anything more then my form has become used too over the years- teeth driving at her a final time, snapping within the air to send that ridiculous female backward and away from the bloodied girl my apparent sense of moral duty had demanded I protect as Enderly moved to stand beside me, creating a wall of sorts I suppose that the little lone female seemed to have the sense to consider. It’s a shame really that Enderly is such a little thing himself, if he could grow he might actually look imposing as opposed to his appearance as a sort of fluffy, oversized fox. I suppose it’s fortunate I am here to both dazzle and terrify, risen heckles and bared fangs seeing the wretched female consider her self-preservation more deeply as she spun in place, taking her prize with her before racing away and up the river. Was a tail really worth it? Would she really get much meat from that? Oh right- the girl.

I managed to shift my features into what I was fairly sure was a look of concern, still unsure why I had been bitten in the shoulder to save such a creature. I mean, I suppose I care, she didn’t deserve to die and not like that, although really it does get tiring being the hero all the time and saving all these loners whom are too unintelligent to join a pack, or at least ally with one in some effort to protect themselves. It was his mention of daughter that actually seemed to attract my attention, violet blue eyes resting upon the girl with a new light I suppose. Enderly had a child? I suppose I shouldn’t be so surprised, gaze flicking from him to the girl and back again before choosing to keep my words to myself- at least for now, attention returning in full to her injuries.

Alright, so I’m not a healer, it has never been my talent and truly if anything is wrong with the way assassins are trained it is that we are never taught to heal, not even the most basic ideals for wound care. After all, we are designed to take life, not preserve it and as such my knowledge of how exactly to fix the girl was not as extensive as it should be.

”Diveen can help her. My son Meryl or my nephew, Hadrian, both are very skilled in healing, they can save her I am sure.”

Well, sure, might have been a bit of a strong word, but I never was good at delivering bad news and really I hardly have any desire to be the one to tell Enderly his child is dying and/or dead, that is a healers job. She is alive for now though and I suppose by that merit I am required to do something, opening the metaphorical gates of Diveen for my….friend and his daughter. The girl was small, not yet even fully grown, we should be able to carry her, Diveen was not all that far. Maybe there was use in fathering small children after all.

”Stop staring in shock Enderly, staring helps no one, we have to move her so either help me or at least stand and stare over there where you’re not in my way!”

I never was all that polite, what? It’s my charming personality.
