Brian we like to drift for channel cats this time of year ,usually get a bag of shad fresh is the best .I like to cut them up while they r alive and put in ziplock bag with all the blood u can keep from spilling out and i put on ice in bait cooler. Then i go out to middle of lake and drift with wind ,i will use a lake boober and set about 4-5 foot deep and one on bottom with 3way rig and small float by bait the float helps with snags .Once we locate the cats i will mark and continue to drift over that spot till no more bites .Just remeber indian lake is shallow so light wait is key with no wind more wind heavier weight hope this helps we have had great sucess with this method some big but alot more of 3 - 6 pounders
