News 03.28.20

Get with me if you want to move up in rank. I'm going to change up the pack tasks for a little change of pace.

Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

If you have a ^ next to your name, that means you're up for promotion so see me or send me a message on Discord so we can see where to move you. All others interested in specializing or getting a rank, let me know so we can figure out how to make that happen.

The pack board has been updated. If you wanted to remain a member, let me know either on here or Discord and I'll get you back on the board. Otherwise, let's have a thread!

I know I had a couple replies for the training with Spirane so I will be starting that thread soon. Stay tuned!

I am still working on an alliance with Diveen and Asteraia so stay tuned. If you have any information or would like to help, please let me know. If anyone has any ideas to promote activity within the pack, also, let me know. I am open for plots and such! Meanwhile, thank you all for your continued support of the pack.

Riot follws right along, interested in both seeing more of Iromar and hearing what Aithne might say of the ranks. Having more of an idea about what was available could be helpful for him to figure out where he might be better suited. Yet he pauses when she sends her prey into what must be her own den, and with her indication of moving elsewhere, Riot is quick to step back into place to see where she would be taking him. The swamps would take some getting used to, but he was already assessing the differences in soil where they walked or avoided, and knew that he would be exploring the area carefully later to make sure he knew where it was good to move onto and where it was not. It was interesting, and maybe this kind of terrain would better keep him sharp about where his footing was and so forth. He would look on the bright side of this, because he could see where the marsh area could be considered pretty. It had it's own allure, something set apart. Aithe had already shown that she was set apart from other alphas, so it made sense.

She started by telling him that there was an option to challenge for filled ranks, and that it wasn't all about battle like he'd heard other packs were prone to doing. That was a relief to him, and it was probably on his expression right now. He couldn't say if he was terrible at battle or not, but it wasn't really his forte if he could do things another way. He would much rather use his skills for the rank; the skills one would need for said rank. So that news put him more at ease about the matter, and he gave a nod to Aithne to show that he had heard these words. She went on to tell him the high council could not be challenged for, and he listened to that, understanding why. Trust was a needed thing for such a place of standing, and Riot agreed with that fact. He did hope that one day, if this were to be his home, that they would trust each other enough for the option to be open, but it wasn't something to think about too much for now. He needed to focus on the ranks that might work out for him and speak to Aithne over those. That way they would both have an idea as to where he wanted to go and what tasks might be needed.

Riot's gaze swept over the gators resting on the banks, but keeps up with Aithne until she sat upon a knoll. Riot took a seat near her, looking over as much of Iromar that could be viewed from this vantage point. It looked very neat up here, actually. When Aithne was talking again, Riot glanced to her, soaking in what she was saying about the ranks. The first one was enough up his ally to roll it over in his mind, and he even had a comment on what she was making an example of the skills needed. But he waits for now, wanting to let her go on without interruption. He could say all that he needed to after she was done, and he was still curious about the rest of the ranks and if any others would be of interest to him and make use of his skills. Another rank was being explained and Riot listened to that, though he did not think it would fit him enough. If he was not big on fighting, then there was little thought that such a place would be good for him. He would keep to the skills he knew he had, the fact that he liked being around and gathering information any way that he could.

And back to the Vigilax rank, which was more his style as Aithne thought. And it sounded as if it was, though Riot figured he could do one of two ideas if needed; it all depended on which tasks were for what, he supposed. He smiles a little at the false information part and dips his head. He can see where that could be helpful, but has to think this part over a litle more. He did not like being dishonest if he could help it. Though if it was for the good of the pack, he could see where it might be a needed thing. Something he could live with, if that was where he aimed his ambitions. Aithne was speaking of another rank now, one of a thief more than anything, and onto the fighter rank, which Riot had no interests in, and back to the Minos rank. The training and tasks sounded more widespread than Riot's own skills, for he could not very well train anyone in fighting if that was not his own skill to use. He liked the idea of having many tasks, but if it wasn't his sort of work then it wouldn't mean as much to him. Gathering information for Aithne --- even within the pack -- was one thing. Training various roles sets was another.

Onto healer and a hunter, and she was going on to say that the ranks would train those under them that wanted to learn the skills. That all made sense to him. Then Aithne was saying more on possibly adding more ranks eventually. Interesting. When she asked him if it all better explained things to him, he nodded. "Yes, I believe it does." There was a pause as he sorted out his thoughts on the ranks and so forth. "I think I would do best as either Auspex or, as you said, Vigilax. I like gathering information in whatever way I can, and learning of other wolves, how packs and structures work. By now I have probably collected a vast area of information of packs and alphas." He smiles a little; there was much to tell if it was worth telling. Still, he might think better to wait and if needed, use the information for tasks if Aithne needed anything he knew for those tasks. "I know you already have a Vigilax, so what would be the tasks to do to challenge him for the rank? And what tasks would there be to gain Auspex?" He had to ask it, and honestly.. there was every possiblity he would attempt to do both, just to see where he fit best by his skills.

PACK RANKS

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.
Trooper
The head warrior of Iromar. Shows the most skill in combat and has experience to back it up. Trains the soldiers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Stalker
The head hunter of Iromar. Shows the most skill in hunting and providing for the pack. Tasked with leading pack hunts and teaching the pups of the pack at designated times. Trains the hunters and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Medic
The head healer of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine. Tasked with checking on the Monarch/Deputy after a challenge and also keeping up with mothers around birthing time. Trains the healers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Envoy
The head diplomat in Iromar. Skilled in matters of politics and conversation. Intelligent and witty, this wolf keeps the pack together as one while reaching out to potential allies for support. Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. Trains the teachers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Snoop
The head spy in Iromar. Skilled in maneuverability and blending in, this wolf must be a shadow when called upon. Tasked with finding out information about other packs or wolves when called upon, this wolf must be quick as well as witty, able to make anyone believe anything. Also serves as a thief when the need arises. Trains the spies and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Chronicler
The head story teller of Iromar. This wolf has done their research on all things Iromar and Moladian. They can give a good history lesson or spin a tale on demand when the younger minds call for distraction. Able to captivate an audience. May even help with speeches for the Monarch when necessary. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
Warriors- Members of the Iromar army. Skilled in combat and overseen by the Trooper.
Hunters- Providers for Iromar. Skilled in scavenging and hunting.
Healers- Doctors of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine for those in need.
Diplomats- Extroverts of Iromar. Skilled in politics and overall conversation.
Spies- Scouts and thieves of Iromar. Skilled in blending in and masking themselves when called upon.
Teachers- Guardians of the youth of Iromar. Skilled in defense and culture. They shape the young minds of the future.
Children-The pups of Iromar. To be cherished as they are precious for the future of the land. Shape them and mold them into something we can all be proud of.
Members- Overall pack members of Iromar. Not specialized in a particular field yet but just as important to the population.
