Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Childish curiosity is a thing most evil and it appears that Zagan is afflicted by it the most out of his litter. They were traveling from Diveen because of some male wanted to take what the other had; a crown? A throne? A title? The boy did not understand it but nevertheless his family had decided they did not like it and so he followed.

It was only when they had breached into the fields of the wild lands outside of Diveen that the young one became so enraptured by the newness of it all. The scents, the sounds, the sights. It was invigorating and all so strange, he just had to check every little thing out! One thing led to another and now he was clumsily jogging after a fluttering thing that teased him so. It fell and rose as it bumped about in the air, nearly touching his nose and pressing him to snap tiny jaws at it, but it eluded him every time. He wandered after this small thing until it finally rested atop a small rock, a time in which he seized by sneaking ever so slowly upon it. His blackened nose neared it slowly as he cautiously sniffed at it before deciding to instigate it into playing once more. He tossed his head and rose upon his hind paws, slamming his front ones down upon the stone with a playful snap of his jaws at the air. Only, when he removed his paws did he see that the fluttery thing was no longer fluttering and strange smelling stuff oozed from its squished body. Its blue wings were crumpled and it no longer leaped through the sky like it had before.

Zagan had killed his first friend.

With a disappointed expression befalling him he looks back up to realize not only does he not know where he even is, he also doesn’t see any of his family anywhere nearby. In a near panicked motion he spins around and bounds back toward the direction in which he thought he had come from only to find that it ends up at the softened shores of a lake. Now pricked ears lean forward as he inspects the strange, plush earth that rests between his toes. He picks up one paw only to drop it and press it deeper into the sand. Something about the way it squeezes between his paw pads feels so odd and yet nice all the same. It is almost a relief in comparison to the hardened ground of Diveen that he has walked on since birth.

But this squishy earth is not really his biggest concern now and although he is absolutely clueless as to how he will find his family again, he will not budge from this place until he sees someone. And so he plops his butt upon the ground as he leans down to lap some water from the lake, quenching his need for something cool and yet he yearns so deeply for the milk that his mother provides to fill his belly.

SON OF SHADOWS. NO DARK ANGEL. NO DEVIL'S MISTRESS. OF NOWHERE.
