Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

how long will we blame the devils on our shoulders
and pose like angels on the outside

The mention of Achlys is always... a sensitive thing. I do not understand it entirely, though I find myself taking unkindly to the idea of others being so alone with her. I know, though, that a healer must see to her. After all, I do not like the idea of her dying just yet. That would be unfavorable. Still, I cannot help but feel the corners of my eyes narrow as he mentions her; she is, after all, in quite a state. She does not have her previous strength still. It is bothersome, and though I do not like the idea of him staying too close to her for too long, I must make exceptions. He has done well with the others. I am obliged to trust him in this.

"Yes, she is still somewhat... questionable." I pause, though I am quick to fill the silence. A request of sorts, I suppose. "If you find it easier to be closer to her den in order to watch her progress, then I shall find you a suitable den."

After all, if she does not heal entirely, she will become a weakness down the line. Such a thing should be prevented if possible. If there were anybody within the pack at such a time to perform such a feat, then it would be this male. He must know this by now, for why else has he called me? Of course, the question is answered soon enough. He mentions the position of the Witch and I cannot help but tilt a brow. I have expected this, though I did not expect one to come forward so soon.

"You have earned your position."

I state it simply, with a roll of my shoulders. He has done enough. It is better he rises to such a position now rather than delay the inevitable. I must reward those within Glorall that strive forward and have ambition.

"Now, it is a matter of maintaining your position. Do not stop learning. That is all."

I do not know whether they are the words he wishes to hear. I do not believe in coddling any other. He must surely know that even my own position is constantly watched, constantly coveted. As such, he must continue to be the best at what he does lest somebody else takes such a place. For now, I am content to give him a moment's peace but soon, he will be required to seek knowledge elsewhere.
