Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

So peaceful was the scene that was laid out before her pads that Hellene almost was able to relax. A thin layer of clouds laid beneath her as the apex of the mountain lay high enough to tower above them. But they were transparent enough that all of Blossom Forest was visible beneath them. The bare skeleton of Abendrot. The den thick green that marked Aurora Borealis, and Leisure Lake beyond that. The river that connected the lake to the falls and all the way up to this very mountain. It really put into perspective just how small she was in comparison to the world. How insignificant her life truly was. In a few years she would be gone, leaving only her pups to remember her. Beyond that? They would die and she would be forgotten. She would leave no true legacy, for though she would be leaving her pups, they did not carry her blood. Her line stopped at her and her sister... and she highly doubted that Athene would ever have pups.

No, her sister was an odd one to be sure. Athene never lied, though often she remained silent on many matters, which often frustrated others. In truth, she would smirk, as if she held in her mind an unknown, important secret that no one else was privy too. She was almost omnipotent, thriving at any task she attempted, from hunting, to spying, to knowledge in general. But where Athene was flawed, the rare things that Athene did not like or was inept at were the only things that Hellene shined in. Sure Athene was strong, graceful, silent, and smart... but Hellene was a healer - a good one at that. Her knowledge had been passed down from her mother's line as far back as any in their pack could remember. And also Hellene, unlike Athene, was wonderful with pups. She had an undeniable maternal instinct that drove her to take orphans under her wing, even if only until they were reunited with their lost parents. Athene had no patience for their innocence, as she had no patience either for Hellene. She believed truly that only the strong should survive... no... Athene would never have pups.

But to digress, what Hellene sought in the land before her, what she sought to discover was what was the point to her existence? How would she be remembered? She rarely made friends, for few could get past her quick to anger rough exterior. Her accusing words, her reluctance to trust. How would she be remembered? And then it came to her. She may die alone and unloved by a brute. She may never know the kindness of a lover's caress or the pain of childbirth, but she would save lives. She had adopted Khaleesi and Destan, giving them a family and providing them with a mother who would always be there to protect them or comfort them. She had helped Beloved, Amalthea, Blayre, and countless others with her herb lore... yes. Hellene smiled, firmly believing now in her purpose. It was not to be loved, but to teach. To pass on the legacy that her mother had left to her. Already Khaleesi was becoming adept at her, her enthusiasm making her the perfect student, though Hellene feared if a failure - which almost always was a death - would break her poor daughter's spirit.

That was why Hellene was so cold - she could not afford to let everyone in. If she did, she would be heart broken each time one of her patients failed to recover. Each time she lost one or failed to fully heal them, she would be devastated. No... it was better to hold back and work objectively on them.

Footsteps breaking the thin crust of the snow that still remained atop the peak of the mountain alerted her to an approaching varg, and though her audettes pinned to pick up their motion, she stilled her instinct to jump to attack. So often Hellene was hasty in her actions, angering, accusing, attacking. But here, where she was so far from her pack, her family, her pups... what was the need? And if this was the one instant in which she needed to be gruff and she failed to be, well then her pups were already adults, and she knew that Kalgalath and Magic and her other pack members would fill in in her absence. Death would not be too horrible of a fate for her, if indeed this was her time.

I hope I'm not bothering you. My name is Zero... I have been away from Blossom for quite some time, and had hoped to get to know some others here. A million questions just to her lips, seeking to escape. Accusations for why he left, questioning his intent for returning. His history, his weaknesses, his faults. Immediately her mind thought the worst of the brute, but instead the femme inhaled deeply, quieting her mind. Turning to face him, she smiled softly at him as she so often did when addressing her pups. "It is strange, is it not, to return and see that so much has changed, and yet so much has stayed the same." Hellene and her sister had once left these lands only to return years later. Wolves had left, new ones had arrived, but the lands themselves were exactly as they were. "Zero is a peculiar name. But it is better than no name at all. My own is Hellene." Silently she chastised herself for insulting her dubbance - even when she was trying to be nice she still found ways to be rude. "It is nice to have others... to talk to from time to time I suppose." She never had really thought about it before... but the only one who truly knew her and her story was her sister. Not even her pups knew much about her neglected childhood. What a sad, sad example of a wolf she was...
