The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

I can't escape this hell..

The crimson cloaked fae watched with interest as her subjects played with their new toy. Enigma seemed confused which was just a little bit cute, on her part. Scarlet may never trust Enigma, but she didn't entirely trust anyone, not even herself- it was why she was still alive today. If Nights were to question everything she did, all the broken and dying bodies she walked away from, she would never be done with the questions- it would be an infinity of doubt clouding her current judgment. The familiar itch of blood lust ran down her throat as Halina neared her- something about faes had always been so much more fulfilling than brutes, especially to her. Halina approached casually and sat, temptation of the wrong kind roiling through the air between them. Scarlet quirked a brow at Halina asking what she should call her. My my, aren't we friendly today.

Whichever rolls off your tongue better, love. I've never been one much for titles.

Your highness. Queen. Alpha. Ruler. Top Dog. Wolf in Command. Titles were labels and labels defined you. Nights was an impulsive creature and she sensed Halina was much the same, but in more of a ' live life to fullest' kind of way. Scarlet was as likely to kiss as she was to bite and Kershov loved his little time bombs wrapped in wolf pelt. Scarlet perked her ears at Enigmas little interrogation, thinking she'd make a fine torture chamber supervisor- she seemed to like to make others squirm and writhe. Scarlet loosely paid attention to the males decision- it was clearly being left to Enigma whether he got to come over the border in one piece, but Nights wouldn't promise he'd remain that way for long. Abendrot was not for the weak- it was prove your worth or die- or try your damnedest to outrun Ker's many hell hounds on your way out.

so many times I've tried...

The brujo chose assassin- he did seem the loner type. If Kershov decided to send this pretty little one after Scarlet when she didn't come when called, he would be down one assassin at this point..but perhaps the brute had potential that was not immediately obvious- in any case, she looked forward to him proving him sooner than later. Nights ignored Halina pouncing on a rat, although the thought of a snack made Nights feel ravenous immediately. She cleared her throat in a false politeness sort-of-way and spoke up, lyrics clear and straightforward.

I'd like to purpose a hunt, before Halina starves to death. Perhaps you and your new recruit will join us, Enigma? However, I'd like to point out we will not be going fishing anytime soon.

Playful tones mixed will a will to see her pawns in action, which was sidelined by her stomach flip flopping at the thought of warm spurts of jugular red running down her throat. A small doe would do for the four of them for now and four wolves against one deer would be very good odds on this pretty little day. Scarlet stood, stretching her lithe figure, shaking out tan and russet and feeling the satisfying POP of vertebrae down her thorocolumbar region.

but I'm still caged inside..
