I can say that in 20+ years of fishing IL, there is really not much water that I have not caught saugeyes/walleyes at one point or another. Seasonality plays a huge role. Sometimes they are in channels, sometimes they are in the few deep holes. One thing for sure, they are where the feed is at any particular point. For the day troll bite, search hard, search often, check high, check low, and when you find one, there is more. If you have electronics, use them. This time of year bait balls will start forming, weeds will start to increase, and fish will hug the breaks for sure. Replies:
