Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
take me back to days long past
IP: 24.209.206.46

I do not walk alone this day. My Father, Sen, long standing Medicine Wolf of Taviora is at my side, for in these last few weeks I have grown worried for him. He had been the one to raise me, the only child to have stuck around for any relative time at all. All of my younger siblings are fleeting souls, for they have within them more of their Mother than their Father. Her wanderlust has penetrated deeply, and I do not hold such things against them- but my dark violet eyes never do miss the sadness I see in my Father. The way his eyes have dulled and the way his once marvelously pale coat has faded in a different way and grown taunt across his slender frame. I often bring small prey to his den, to leave them at the entrance for him if only to make sure he is eating well if at all. But I know that time will either take its toll or it will heal as it heals all wounds.

I still worry, though, and it is why I have asked him to accompany me to the call of our leader, my uncle, his most beloved friend and brother. We are not blood to Coza and his family, but bonded we all are as is the rest of the forest to one another. I make sure to brush my golden shoulder against his pale creme one every now and then, casting him side long glances that he does not return to me. I know the flame that once kept him vibrant and lively is going out, and though I fear the worst I have hope yet. He has returned, after all, even when he goes out to do whatever he does, he has always managed to return to the forest. This is where we belong, after all, this is our home as it always has been and as it always will be. Today, we answer the call of our family, and though we are late we arrive together all the same.

The scene is interesting to me, because, without having heard the words, I know already what has transpired. Taviora has come into a new era, one full of youth and vigor in the face of a wolf I have known all my life. Amoxtli and his siblings are cousins to me, though in truth, I consider them more like my own siblings. The fact that my blood siblings are mostly lost to me play a factor in that I am sure, but I had recently found Calyx and even the trace of my littlest sister Namira. I even seem to be rewarded with my train of thought, for it does not take long for dark violet eyes to notice a young girl dressed in lovely gold and red. I almost do a double take, for she is more like our Mother than any other, and almost nervously do I glance up to my Father beside me. I do not know what his reaction will be, or if he will react at all, but before he can I am moving from my place and coming up beside Namira.

A wonderfully kind and beautiful smile lights up my features as I look over her, just as soft words fall past my lips in a gentle murmur just for her. "Little sister, my how you have grown.." I wonder, if she will remember me, remember us- her family, and as I am ever the optimistic creature I think that she will indeed recall. While my attention is on the littlest daughter of us born of Hush and Sen, I still watch my Father out of the corner of my eye if only to make sure he is well. I know he has seen little Namira just as I have, only when his violet eyes had find her they had not registered so well as my own. His mind is a muddled place in these years I know, and he may well see more of Hush standing beside me than he does Namira. But instead of coming to us, I see him move instead to Coza's side, where he takes his seat if only to speak in soft tones to his long time friend and brother. "I have been meaning to find you and talk with you, perhaps after this meeting of our family, brother.." He says no more, falling into his usual silence that has accompanied him throughout these past long years.

I, however, have much more to stay for even when I remain beside my sister, my dark though bright intense eyes search for the regal fourm of Amoxtli. Each wolf has already said their piece, at least those that are present, and he has even responded to them but I will always have words for my family as well. "Amo, from newborns we have known one another, and though you are my cousin I know you more as my brother. Just as your Father before you, I would be honoured if you had me your War Shield for many more years to come." I dip my slender golden creme skull down gently in respect after my words, though truly my words are hardly finished as I continue. "Our forest has known no better blood to protect its family within, and I know we will all stand together as we always have since our beginning." I have always had a knack for rather philosophical phrasings, as my Father has called it, though it is hardly anything but myself speaking the truth. I love my family- each and every wolf of Taviora, with everything that I am, and I know that we will continue to be the family we are until the forest family is no more.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
