News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

i am the blood of the mountain
Confusion about the reason for being brought within a pack land one did not belong to without any explanation being given was something that was anticipated in these situations. That was why when I set these types of tasks to my pack members who wished to prove themselves capable of such skills, I often lingered nearby when I had heard of their success. I wanted the wolves they brought her to feel not only the presence and welcoming of the one who had brought them here, but the ruler of these lands as well. So I moved forward to greet the female that Kiyomi had brought to our home and introduced myself. She seemed respectable, introducing herself and dipping her head while referring to me as 'your majesty.' While I held many titles, such formalities were not something that I required of my pack members. If they were most comfortable to referring to me in such a way, I would not deplore the action, but I did not encourage as much either. Once I had learned her name I went on to explain why she had been brought here. The last thing I wanted was for her to feel she was a prisoner under duress. That was never the intention when those who wished to rise within the ranks had their skills tested by metaphorically 'stealing' wolves into Spirane. If she did not feel welcome here it would ruin the intent of the task.

It was hard to predict how any one wolf would react to the situation of being brought into a pack without prior consent. Some were explosive in their distaste for what had occurred to them, while others were open to at least the possibility that Spirane could be a good fit for them. Anemone had originally been brought into Spirane under similar circumstances, as Natu had worked towards the very same rank Kiyomi worked towards now. If all went well with Khaleesi, perhaps she too would find her place among the pack as Anemone had when she decided to stay rather than leave at the end of her first week in the mountains.

Her response brought a smile to my features, glad to find she had not reacted adversely to the situation. My tail waved back and forth over my hindquarters, pleased with her reply. I nodded at her words about never having had a home before, knowing that there were many wolves through Moladion and the realms beyond our borders that chose to move freely about the world rather than return to the same den each night. It was a lifestyle that my sister Orca had often partaken in, though somehow even she always managed to return to the mountain time and again. "Perhaps when the end of your week here arrives you will discover if pack life suites you, or if you would prefer to return to the life you lead before meeting Kiyomi and myself." I smiled, both to Khaleesi and Kiyomi. A single ear flicked backwards, catching the sound of some mountain bird flitting amongst the branches of the great trees that grew here.

"Feel free to explore the mountain at your leisure; if you would like I can show you to a den where you might be comfortable for the duration of your stay." Typically I would leave such tasks up to the wolf who had brought a newcomer into the pack lands, but Kiyomi seemed somewhat distracted and I did not want Khaleesi to think she had been brought here only to be ignored. I would gladly show her around the more commonly traversed areas of the pack lands; Spirane was a vast territory, and I did not want her to get lost on her first night as our guest.

ooc; appy/kiyomi is on an extended away, so we can keep the thread moving just the two of us if you'd like to. c:
