He went in search of those who had once lived in Diveen, hearing that some had gone to Spirane. Did he really think that Micteca had gone there with them? Somehow he did not think so, because her scent had been so faint near Diveen. Yet perhaps someone who had been there would know where she had gone. Any vestige of where she had gone would soothe his frayed nerves, and in truth he had no real right to know. Sabriel was aware of that truth, but it did not sting any less. He had left to wander as a gypsy, and he knew what he would lose in doing so. He had made his bed, and now he had to sleep in it.

But he still cared. He still wanted to know if she was okay. Or at least if she had been the last time anyone had seen her. Sabriel didn't think about how Anemone might take the odd downward spike of emotion from him, since he was closer to her home as he moved. He remembered she lived in Spirane, of course, and hoped that she and her children were doing well, but it did not occur to him that she might feel anything that he did. Maybe she didn't feel anything at all, Sabriel hadn't asked. He mostly wanted to give Anemone space to do her own thing, not wanting to put any obligation type feeling on her.

It was not fair that fate just shoved two wolves together out of the blue, and Sabriel felt bad that it had been done while Anemone was starting her own family. She certainly did not need this kind of thing weighing on her mind right now. And Sabriel was trying not to hang around unwanted, as well. But for this, he needed to go to Spirane and see if anyone there might have any information for him about Micteca. He knew he had to let go, and he was doing that, but.. he just needed to know how she had been the last time anyone had seen her. That was all, and then he could go on his way again.
