aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Only You Are the Life Among the Dead

Pride had welled up in her chest when Kalgalath had told the pack, the whole pack, that she was good enough to be a ranked wolf. She was the Zeta of Aurora Borealis, and her brother got a rank as well! She was so proud of the brute that had come so far from when he first stumbled into the pack. Even though the white femme was an adult now, she was still like a pup in many ways. She got excited about everything and was always ready to meet new lupines. She had fun with everything, from the simple things like border patrols and hunts to exploring new territory. But she also had matured. She knew better when to talk and when to listen, she knew where she belonged and where she was not supposed to go, she knew what her responsibilities as a pack wolf and as a sister and a daughter were. Her body had grown to its full size, tall stilts carried her through the trees as her thick white pelt showed her pretty adult form. She continued to work out as her mother had showed her and her brother, and she was well muscled and strong. Khaleesi was proud of the wolf she had become.

And so after the pack meeting she committed herself to doing more for the pack, and to doing things on her own. Normally she did not like doing things without her mother or brother, or both. But Khaleesi was an adult now, and she needed to act like one. So she would go out and do border patrols on her own, scenting the familiar aroma of Kalgalath as she wandered through the trees, not entirely sure what she was doing other than looking for lupines that were at the borders. And if there was someone at the borders she was not entirely ensure of what it was she was supposed to say to them. But the young femme was not too worried about it, she knew she would be able to figure it out.

With her banner wagging behind her the femme took her time walking through the trees, sniffing at every boulder and blade of grass that caught her interest. Even though she had walked these lands many times before she still enjoyed taking her time strolling about. The ivory felted femme felt an urge of excitement when she caught the scent of a stranger at the borders. Not even considering the fact that it could be someone dangerous, she increased her pace to see who it was and what they wanted. Her bright green orbs caught the sight of two lupines, one male and one female. Before she became visible the male rose his maw to the sky and let out a howl. She cockled her head to the side, ears erect, listening to his song. It sounded like he was calling for Kalgalath, but Khaleesi also knew that it was okay for her to check out what they wanted since she was a member of the pack.

The femme trotted forward, plume still wagging behind her in excitement at meeting two new lupines. When she got to the spot where they were she looked them over for a moment before speaking. ”Hello, my name’s Khaleesi. I’m the Zeta of Aurora Borealis. What brings you to this pack? Do you have friends here?” She quickly realized she was rambling as she often did in her excitement and she shut her mouth abruptly, not wanting to annoy them as she sometimes did with her ramblings. Her green orbs remained bright and alert as she waited to see what they would say.
