Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Soul was in a quandary. She had told herself that she should stay apart from others, but she also knew that she needed a pack to survive. Her inherent mistrust of strangers was nudging at her now, telling her to walk away from this brute before it was too late. But something stopped her. He seemed nice, trustworthy. And so she softened her tone and asked if he was okay.

"Do not apologize, miss, it was entirely my fault. But yes I am alright, I have been through worse falls than that in my lifetime, but thank you. My name is Summer by the way. What's your name if you don't mind me asking?" She hesitated, but his tail was wagging in a friendly manner, and his golden eyes were kind. "Soul, my name is Soul," she hesitantly responded. "I'm not from around here..." She paused. She was not accustomed to asking for help, but she knew she did not really have a choice. "Do you know where I could possibly, um..." She paused again. She just couldn't bring herself to do it. "You know what? Never mind, forget I said anything." She hoped he couldn't see her blush of embarrassment. "It was nice meeting you, Summer."

She turned and began to walk away, head held high. She did not want him to think that she was a fool, or worse, a loner. But of course he could tell. Why else would she be sleeping in the middle of the day? Why else would she look so skinny and unkempt? How embarrassing. She couldn't bring herself to look back to see if he was following her. She half hoped that he would call out to her to stop . . .
