News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

He does not expect her to bow, but then he does not really expect anyone to bow to him unless a display of dominance is shown to gain such a thing. Covet doesn't bother with that stuff on most occasions. It is not something that he needs. Yet he would investigate others who came here, or at least watch from a distance when others did the investigating for him. At least once this has been the case, and a lot could be said on one such situation as that. He keeps his own thoughts on the matter, however, since there had been no problems to the circumstances thus far. Eventually Covet knew that problems would arise, because that was the sort that the angels were. They liked to cause problems, as far as he had been able to tell. He had to keep his eyes open.

It was more a feeling that he got from her before she spoke, and he understood well enough the thought that these were only titles and not as important as some actions and placements, and the thing was that Covet believed that as well. He doesn't need a crown to feed his ego like some would, because he had done his part and it did not mean he had to rule afterwards. Yet if he took more time of it, then ruling would be easier in some way for the next that tried. And Covet was on the edge of if he should continue or find someone more suitable for the job. There had not been any real thought on having a future here in Diveen as a king, just ideas on where the spot could help him in other things he might want more. Situations had not gone as planned.

Covet had never been a pack sort of creature, and perhaps much of that was his disinterest in being ordered to do anything he might not want to do, but another was that he wasn't meant to be around them. At least not in his own opinion, when he did the sort of things he did. For that he would already have a target on his head, and stepping out in the open like this, enough to challenge and hold a pack, well.. that did not make things easier for him. But it had been a stand for a reason, and even though it did not give him what he thought it might -- aside from the hopes of a change here -- he had learned something from it. Something to hold onto. And oddly, Covet was fine with this. It only solidified things that he already knew, and he would do better because of it.

He listens attentively as Ava spoke, responded to the first thing he had said over why she had not been a queen. Covet might not believe her ideals in all the ways that she does, for he doesn't believe in gods in wolf form; but the rest he could understand better. She did not wish to listen to the whining of others, and Covet was right there with her on that. The others would be constantly picking to find weaknesses, and it was a tedious process that Covet would rather skip. He isn't blind, he can see all the little ways in which even Hyrule is trying to play, but he ignored that for now. It is not something he needed to give futher satisfaction to, and it would not look good to kick all those of angel blood away. Not unless they gave him more of a reason than that.

His heart wasn't in it to begin with, not the actual ruling part of it. That was probably obvious to Ava, though. "Perhaps then I should not stay a king." He responded. If Ava did not look well on the position, it was not really worth having. He had done his part, and it had given him nothing more than the win, the downfall of the angels. That was all the good that had thus far come of it, and there was no real reason not to walk away from it all now, right? And she spoke again of him emptying Diveen and having created many enemies. He wasn't truly concerned about that, not right now. There was little anyone could take from him right now anyway. "I've always had enemies, and they had claimed to be that far before my challenge." He responded evenly, unmoved by the fact.

Angels had called him a demon marked for death simply because of his eyes, and he remembers being told this back when he was younger. There had been nothing he could do about those claims, and Covet had been unable to claim innocence because he simply had not been. He was no demon as those of Iromar had called themselves; had no connection to those wolves. But he had been something else, had been a killer, a creature that had culled the weak for his own needs. Yet it had been his eyes that they saw and marked as bad, wrong. Unfortunate thing, that. It was what it was, and he had accepted that the angels were against certain colors of eye and pelt. A problem that made them marked by Covet in his own way. Not so much to kill them, but to make them fall, stumble.

They would be back, she says, and Covet was not upset by that. He knew it would be something to happen, which had him urged to find someone acceptable to be king, acceptable to those who had lost Diveen, but one that would not keep the backwards codes of angels. It would be a difficult search, he thinks. Yet Ava was asking him now of his plans, and Covet glanced away for a moment. "I have no set plans. I wanted the angels to fall and they have. I want to begin a change here, but I do not have to rule for that." He responds evenly. He could return to take down whatever angel might try for Diveen again, but that still did not mean he needed to remain here as a king. "Without a good reason to be king, then why should I bother? My chance was over the moment I challenged, and I accept that. I got what I wanted." He responded. At least, to a point. But why go into all that now?
