I came because it was my job to come, because I wanted too, because I had made that promise and I wouldn’t go back on it. I told Covet I would be a healer for this pack and I would. Maybe they can question my morals or my reasons or even my very culture as Covet did at the first pack meeting where he made it only entirely clear he does not understand what the word ‘Angel’ really means to so many- but they cannot question my conviction even if they question what is ‘Angel’. It isn’t a title, it isn’t just blood- it is both those things and more. It is…family, like a last name I suppose and no matter how hard he might try he cannot change something like that. I cannot make him understand and I have since decided it is not worth my effort to try though his words still rested so firmly within my ears. We should be as ourselves he said- not as Angels. What do you do though- when that is entirely who you are? I pushed the thoughts away for now because truly they were hardly worth wasting my time on. I was what I was and always would be and I had long since come to the conclusion that who I was…was for me to decide, not him, though perhaps it is wiser to let him believe he has won that little battle- after all, I do not think him a wholly terrible leader. Unfortunate to look at and perhaps a little slow but that was hardly his fault now was it? I gave me word and I intended to keep it, promises were not to be taken lightly and as I grew I would surely look back upon this moment, this day and realise what had truly changed within my mind. Maybe one day I would laugh at it or think myself ridiculous- I doubt it though, I rarely think myself ridiculous beyond what is needed. I would merely look back and understand this to be the day I truly understood the meaning of a promise and what came with it.

I knew Asteraia had fallen, Hyrule Fields as I preferred to call them and as one day they would surely be named once my plans had come to fulfilment and I had done what I had long since decided needed to be done. Maybe I was young, but maybe it is time the young grew a little spine. Jaidah, the old Alphess was first to arrive upon the borders as I watched from some distance away for now, violet and gold eyes resting upon her as the barest of smiles traced my lips. There was no one here to see that grin, no one to truly understand- at least not yet. My words it would seem, had come true today, had I not told Widow her Mother would lose her crown? Had I not told her when I was barely several months old that she would not last as Queen. I do so enjoy being proven right. I allowed the small smile to fade all the same, lifting to my paws once more to lope forward on long limbs, white and silver form aglow in the light, Angel Marked ears pricked forward as I approached the small gathering, moving to stand beside Covet. I offered his own wounds a brief glance, they truly seemed healed well, taking a few moments still to examine his injured points before turning to face Jaidah and….some other slightly odd wolf that called herself Lacuna.

“Hyrule the Healer.”

I was only now just hearing how that sounded. Hyrule the Healer? Really? Was I really going with that? The things I do in the name of……well, that’s for me to know now isn’t it? I managed a slight frown all the same, handsome features flicking from Jaidah to the other female and back again.

“Where is the injured one then? Honestly, is he far behind you? Because I pretty much just ran all the way here and if I find out I could have walked I am about to be wholly displeased.”

I managed a huff of sorts all the same, seating myself in no small display of impatience. Maybe I needed to work on my bedside manner a little, but hey, at least I came, at least I was doing my job.

“Are either of you injured at least?"

Neither looked particularly save for their unfortunate breeding and I very much doubted my skill was significant enough to eliminate that, head turned towards Covet now.

"If I give both of them health checks and then heal the injured one do I get promoted?"

Well no one else in this pack aside from Covet and myself ever seemed to be doing anything and really this was the most I'd ever worked in my life, isn't that deserving of reward?
