It was a difficult thing, to feel separation anxiety for a wolf who wishes to kill you, to want to be that close to death and know it cannot touch you - but it wants to so badly it burns with the desire. She could not understand why fate would give her such a cruel wolf to feel this bonded to, and it was not something she had thought would happen to her. But, Kiyomi can remember the conversations she had with Sleekwing on the matter, and is now stuck with only one question. Why Malikye? Why a wolf of such cruel intentions that he cannot even find room in his heart to be kind to the one wolf who shared his soul?

It was so much that it gave the midnight female headaches and heartache. So much that his cruelty had begun to affect her in small ways. She had to withdraw from the pack, hiding out in the higher elevations of the mountain's tunnels, afraid she would get snippy with a pack mate. Irritation at her headache had her feeling on edge, and the constant want to inflict pain coming in from the bond made her unsure of herself around any other wolves. Soon, isolation became too much, and the need to see her best friend in the entire world began to drown out the wish to cause pain. Her mismatched eyes close against the sun of summer as it shone brightly on the summit, blinking a few times to adjust her eyes to the light.

With a long "I-miss-your-company-and-I-need-you" howl out to Sleekwing, she waited by the entrance of her new den in the clouds. It had taken a few weeks to truly adjust to life this high, but she had fought her way through elevation sickness, thinning blood and began to notice the benefits. She could breathe better, run faster, longer, and could now leap from stone face to outcropping without a second thought. Still, it was not enough to keep the heather warrior off her mind. She missed her friend, and the feelings from the bond coupled with the headaches from overthinking had her mind churning in circles. It went passed missing him, she needed the certainty of him for reassurance she was still her and still had emotions other than wrath.
