Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

"Your name shall be carved into legend once my Sword has carved into your chest." ~Song Of Achilles

I told Isola that I would find Heyel and I knew I wouldn't stop until I did. He is my mentor and my blood, my grandfather and the best role model I've ever had. I had to know what what happened to him, even if I don't like it. I look for my children while I'm out, knowing that Vega is worried about them, Paravana especially. I haven't come across their tracks but Heyel...I do smell him here. And so I follow the trail, picking up on another familiar scent. Eden? I know of the male from Glorall, the new king, the one who doesn't like me. But what would he want with Heyel? Pointers on how to run a successful pack? I'm sure Heyel had plenty of those and Glorall can probably use all the help it can get.

But when I stop in the shadows and see another wolf arrive on the scene, my head tilts in puzzlement. Solaris? My own brother arrives. I know well how Eden and he are mostly inseparable. Are they going to get a group lesson from Heyel about ruling? It would serve them well, I'm sure. I haven't seen my brother in years. They have been kind to him but of course he's only the dull red and white of angels, with no gold or touch of black to add to his appeal. He could use some more tips on hair care as well but I'm sure Heyel will touch on that as well while he's here. I smirk in amusement, ready to hear this out so I can then step out and talk to Heyel myself, make sure I escort him to Spirane so Isola can stop worrying. But..something doesn't quite feel right about this.

And then the words turn tense and I catch Heyel's message to Eden, one of the last he delivers as Solaris lunges at him. At first I think it may be a good battle, something worht learning from..but then Heyel loses all his strength and I know he's going to fall. I just feel it. My feet feel frozen to the ground, my eyes burning with unshed tears even as rage and anger burn me up inside. Even as he draws his last breath, I am silent in my hiding spot, downwind from them so I can't be detected but I feel as if my very heart hammering out of my chest will give me away. Why would they do this? Eden..his own father and Solaris a grandfather....turning on their own blood? What gives them the RIGHT? I want to scream it to the heavens, demand their blood in retribution right here, right now, but something stops me. Even as they talk of sparring, as Eden marks himself to make it look believable...they turn back to go their separate ways. I wait until they're out of sight before I go to Heyel's fallen body. I nuzzle his soft white fur as a single tear drops down my cheek.

"Erunt dies caede atque ultione regem angelum. Corrupto caeli angeli nigrum cadent de caelo et sanguis. Proditores, ambo. Vos non ignorabitur." I whisper to him as I lean over to run my nose down his eyelids, closing them at least for the moment. Fire blazes in my tri colored eyes as I look up, lips curling as once more I feel the unforgettable urge to ruch forward and take them six feet under right now. But all will come in due time. Let them stick to their secrecy. I will take them down as I was taught by the one they deemed too weak to live. I will use the secrets he taught me against them. Then let them see who's weak. I trot after their scents, ready to trail them all the way to their respected borders, just to make sure where they call home and safety so that I can find them when that day comes. I'll be sure to track them often from now on so I can keep track of it. I won't let them become ghosts. They can't afford that luxury anymore. They have Angel blood on their paws.

Once I'm done tracking, I'll come and retrieve Heyel's body. He deserves a king's burial and that's what I'll give to him. I'll call for all the wolves in Moladian, all the wolves whose lives he's ever touched. We will have a proper burial and my mother will have her grieving but she cannot know that her own offspring did this. No, it would tear her heart in two. She will have enough pain knowing that Heyel is gone. I must spare her from that. I'll come up with something but until then, Heyel will not be forgotten. I'll make damn sure of it.
