It was not easy for her to walk as perfectly as she could along her border. Her neck was rather stiff and she could feel her left leg begin to throb as she moved. Each step she took she hid what pain she felt. Her mauled face easily remained indifferent her ability to show her emotions rather difficult thanks to her façade. Dominance could be easily seen from her battered frame. Her head not once lowering, even if she should give her wounded neck a break, and her steps did not falter in the slightest. Even before she was an Alpha she was a dominate creature unable to lower herself to no other. She could not follow. She was not made to follow. Dark azure eyes would remain on the smaller snowy pelt wolf, his attitude reminded her of another wolf that seemed to grin like him – but she could not remember him. Not yet at least. While they walked she remain silent as he spoke. She could not blame him for his delight in knowing that his prediction was correct. Though she was pleased to hear that it had nothing to do with her as a whole. It was no surprise that she would have mistrust and doubts in what Hyrule’s intentions were. Naturally she did not trust others. She was not important to others. She was never sought out when she was a loner. Though now with a crown on top of her head she was puzzled as to why wearing such an invisible object would cause the young male to seek her out. For a moment her eyes would shift downward meeting his own violet eyes as she waited patiently for his rebuttal, though preferably without the boyish grin. In his speech she caught onto a few things that she mentally made a note to tuck in her back of her mind, willing to use his words against him…in a way. If he was working to flatter her at the mention of her being an ally he would not get an egotistical response, or a look of ‘I know I would be the ideal ally for you,’ again her response to his flattery was met with indifference.
It was his mention of the former alpha that caused the she-wolf to drag the various thoughts that began to overwhelm her mind. Why indeed would she go to Diveen? She had known about the Angel pack and Jaidah was no Angel. Yet now that she heard about the Angels’ downfall she was sure that whoever took the throne was either a Demon or someone that did not like the Angels for whatever reason. She had nothing against the pack. Isola had shown her kindness and the Angel pack healed her and provided her a safe refuge as she rested. Where the Angel pack was now she did not know, but she was sure that the majority of them would follow wherever Isola went. Though as she allowed Hyrule entrance into her home she would begin to thinking of the reasons why Jaidah would go to Diveen. She follow him silently not minding that he was dragging her around from bush to bush, grabbing whatever sort of things he needed. She was sure that Jaidah would come back and fight for a land she did not deserve, but that she would hide behind the border of another pack – was highly questionable. Standing within the thoughts that swirled around her mind she would shake her head and turn to look at Hyrule. Briefly she looked over at the odd looking paste he made on the flat rock beneath the bush before she sat down as he wanted. His mention of licking the wound made her half-torn ear twitch, remembering her nights when her wound would reopen and Tobias would come to clean the blood off her. His grooming at first wasn’t appreciated, but she had grown use to it, nipping him gently when he got too rough. She knew of Meryl, but before she could say anything she felt his paw filled with paste make contact with her neck wound, and a low growl rumbled within the back of her throat. Her head would swing violently in his direction, but she would not snap at him. Slowly she would move her head to the right allowing him better access at her neck wound fighting the urge to bite him. Her good ear would flip back in his direction listening as he spoke while he continued to rub the paste on her wound. It was when he was done explaining some of the details did she decide to break the one-way conversation, her ebony skull turning in his direction as her cool words slipped out slowly.
“You are asking me to aide you and provide you and your companions a safe place to do, whatever it is you want to do. This could endanger my own. You say this Covet does not respect you for what you are and openly disapproves of it? My kind does not have that much respect for what we do nor are they openly suggestive to the idea that what we do is right. If I allow you and your companions in, then whatever pack you form – they will need to tolerate my kind and what we do. This land will remain a sanctuary to those that are…different from others”
She grows quiet and stares at him for a moment until turned her skull away from him, allowing him to continue to spread his paste along her wound. Back and forth does her mind race building up the pro while tearing each positive thought down with a terrible con. It was without a doubt she could catch on to his intentions even if he was trying to be vague. She had to be sure that whatever decision she made it would overall benefit her pack. She had yet to form an alliance with one pack and now she would be some sort of ally to one that wished to overthrow another. As Hyrule spoke once more she would turn to look at him. Indeed he was a mere child and the very idea she would give into to what he wanted sounded preposterous. Dark eyes narrowed when he mentioned that the Angels had helped her once. It was not something she mentioned to anyone. Really the stories of Heyel being saved by a black wolf with a scarred face barely traveled within Moladion, a thing she had made sure to keep silent. Not just for Heyel’s sake, but for her own. His paw he lifts and places on her chest is met with a stare, eyes widening in shock briefly. Touch was something she was not used to nor something she wholly tolerated. She and Tobias barely touched and allowing Hyrule this rare opportunity was…barely tolerable. It is the sound of his voice and the look of fierce honesty and determination in his violet eyes. She would speak once more her words low not wishing for others to hear.
“Allowing you and your friends to come and go within my home may appear as threat to those in Diveen. I do not want to endanger those that live here. They are…different their actions are frowned upon, especially to those with the Angelic blood. Should I allow you and your friends in, I expect tolerance – especially when our packs become allies. I will protect those that dwell here, including your own – however, if one of yours attacks my own all ties will be broken. Jaidah goes to another pack land in search of her own or to rest until she can retaliate. Should anything go awry within Diveen you are welcomed to join my ranks as a medic of sorts, and the others are able to as well. I am trusting you Hyrule, I am trusting your promise.”
It was rare for her to give anyone the rare opportunity to earn her trust, but even rarer for her to accept another’s promise. It was in his best interest that he not screw this up.
