You know what, all i see is is people either not knowing how to properly run a club , but am i surprised, not one bit, let me spell it out HAD i been the secretary, i would have written to all committee members to ask them do you have any problem with ex committee members coming back on board takes longer, but then you cant say i wasnt asked, 2 i would have laid out what the purpose was in bringing them back on board, in my case, i wanted to help to stabilise things, sort out the issues, i happen to believe that if the problems were sorted and the club ran correctly , then a lot of the issues would go away, the chairman should then not have a reason to undermine anyone,i would say that best way to stop trouble, is to prevent the causes of it in the first place, but then what do i know, i have only worked in logistical management for most of my working life!! there was no need, or reason to ask me would i do the memsec's job, had someone asked, can you help him whilst he sorts out issues, thats totally different, same goes for anyone
but then, is this our club, its not because the AGM is designed to keep the same faces in the committee, its just musical chairs, same old people, vote for the same old tired faces, do i regret resigning, no because i kept my own values in place, good luck with the club, but if you had the members at heart, you would have ensured they all had a voice, where was the written notice of AGM,and list and Statements there of, dereks reason, it would cost too much, well, so does every member who after 1 year does not renew. i stuck with it for 3, years, and still the same old problems.
