Does her bark excite me? Perhaps a little, though perhaps with a more morbid sense of entertainment than any other kind. After all, I had not expected her to be pleased with the predicament and yet, they had not done such a good job at guarding their borders from me. Instability would do that, I suppose. It would be just my luck that I had snatched not only her up but the children, too. It would have been... a bother if I had to leave them behind. Too much work, too much effort. It was easy like this. Entertaining, at least. I had contemplated the risk of others coming for her and yet, the borders reeked only of her and the sound resonated only of her voice, as fiery as ever. If they came, then they'd be too late, and her scent would be washed away from the borders and her presence but a ghost to them. Always an if. Nonetheless, she had called for me, but I was sure to make her wait - I had taken the opportunity to watch the paler child, Eloah, bound into the territory. She moved wearily, but she moved nonetheless, through the thickets and towards the dunes. It was only when I was satisfied that I had at least obtained that playing piece that I moved to the borders, my stride easy and perhaps forced into a more relaxed gait to merely incite that anger I enjoyed so much. Who would have thought that the coy creature I had found in the fields some seasons ago had such fierceness within her? I move easily towards her, pausing some several feet away with half my lip pulled up into an amused grin. I briefly rest my eyes on the auburn child, but it is Renai that I focus on now, meeting her eyes with silence. I stare into them, unphased by the anger that stares back. I have no need for words. I am sure she has plenty enough for the two of us; for now, I just give her the chance to bite into me like I know she wants to. We might as well make our time together fun. |
