Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

When Raptor blinked at the mimicked action, wondering just what kind of youngster she had found out here all by itself. She went so far as to glance around to see if she could spot any adult or companion to the little female, but having found none, Raptor was again lloking at the other female. Was she lost? Did she need to be returned to a place? This had to be considered on a deeper level, because there was no knowing what kind of reaction she might recieve if she were to nudge the little one back to where the scent was strongest. Raptor would contemplate it while seeing what the younger wolf did in these moments alone together. Certainly the smaller female shouldn't be out here alone with all the dangers, though? There had to be someone missing her.

At least the young female could read into the friendly greeting, so there was that. Raptor had seen some pups run away from her when she would not respond back with the strange sounds they made. And there had been that one time where she had tried to repeat those very sounds and that hadn't gone so very well either. It had made the other wolf mad. Raptor no longer tried to bother with making the sounds now. Still, this meeting was going pretty well so far, and when the sound came from the girl -- a different one with a motion of self -- Raptor debated if it meant self. Probably. And then it looked like the young one was asking about Raptor's self noise. And to be completely honest, this had her hesitation because she had never made the self noise before. Only mother had done it.

She looked perplexed for a moment, trying to remember how her mother said it. Finally, she bumped her own shoulder with her nose to indicate self before trying out the word; "Raaapter." Which, okay, did not sound quite the way mother said it, but close enough. And Raptor looked plenty proud about it, too. Then the younger female was asking to play, and Raptor wiggled down to scoot forwards at the little female, responding to the barks with her own, looking amused to find a little one that would bother with her at all. Raptor wiggle-scooted forward, then stopped, then repeated the process before flopping over and lifting her head to stare at the younger female with a little grin.
