News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

((So I started writing this before anyone had been told f Heyel's death hence no mention of it here, so for the sake of this thread we can just assume it is before they have all been told lol))

I was both pleased and yet suspicious, elated and yet concerned, my handsome features having remained in something of a scowl for much of the walk from Taviora and back to Diveen. I had known since the birth of Guardian and Starfall that my bloodline, on a personal level, was superior to Isola’s. I had truly hoped that after the fall of the meteor my sister and Kane would fail to conceive a child as so many did, or else it would be born sickly and weak only to die later as others had. After all, I was the heir, Isola’s heir for she held no children and without Aaliyah or Reyja to contest their claim I had been the next eldest. It was only typical however, that Isola had not only conceived a child- but that it was male, a true heir and not only was Achilles perhaps the most perfect example of an Angel since myself- but he was healthy, strong and had grown to be quite the impressive male. Achilles had knocked be down yet another peg from my position. Solara and Solaris following only a year later and truly I had given up all hope of my own ascension by that point. Wouldn’t you as well? I had however, held myself to some level of superiority. After all, the year of Achilles birth myself and Andromeda had welcomed not one, but two exceptional sons of equal health and size to Achilles. Maybe they hadn’t been white, perhaps their only fault (and Andro’s fault really) but still- they had grown to rival the Prince and truly were I not so assured of the rules of succession and way of Angels in this I would have encouraged wither son to seek the throne for themselves.

Starfall had proven to be something of an….astronomer however and Guardian had befriended Achilles to the point he had become something of a bodyguard towards him and Starfall both. Truly I take great pride in Guardian, as I do all my children, he is an exceptional boy and yet really I wish his purpose in life did not seem to be to act as a flesh barrier for his beloved Achilles. He needed to meet a girl. Truly he did. Enough of that however, I think. The point of these thoughts inside my mind stemmed from the single thought that had taken hold these past few days. Ambrosia had taken the throne of Diveen, my daughter, my beautiful little girl and yet that in itself was where my thoughts became entangled. She had not taken the throne at all. She had been given it and given it by some little weasel off a wolf with horrific conformation, eyes I am fairly sure are actually blind and about as much ability as a leader as a rock. He had beaten Kane to be sure, yet Kane was an old man, aged and tired and worn and even then, Covet had barely beaten him. The law of our family is distinct and it is clear. This is not law of succession, none but an Angel can dictate it and Covet, most assuredly, held none of our blood nor had any right to choose whom stood upon the throne and in this I become nervous.

For a wolf whom had forcibly removed Achilles and Ambrosia’s own brother, Guardian, to then ignore his own family and choose Ambrosia was curious to myself. He was quite the deluded fellow on almost, well, everything and yet still I hardly believed Covet had succumb to his imagination and insanity just yet. Maybe I am a little emotional but I am hardly foolish and I am inclined to know why Ambrosia was chosen and to hear it from herself. She is deserving of course, if only because she is my daughter and I hold the upmost pride in that and in her. She is my little girl and I hold nothing but adoration for her and yet still I am ill at ease, as Andromeda is. This choice is not logical and yet I choose to believe she had simply outwitted him. Our blood, after all, is famed for its intelligence and it’s cunning and Ambrosia, as even Heyel had stated, was of a truly beautiful mind. She had not battled for her crown, yet surely she had simply won it in another way, one equally as capable of respect among our kind and out family. I merely had to seek such assurance for myself, Andromeda striding smoothly beside me as it was we made our way to the borders of the home we had once resided within.

I hardly bothered to pause upon the border line, I was her Father, what was she going to do- tell me off? I loped easily over it and into the lands, pausing to allow my mate and imprint to catch up and lope beside me now. I truly did enjoy having a sizeable mate, she did keep up so very nicely and really she complimented my superior breeding with her own. Sometimes I love myself for my choices in life. Ambrosia was hardly difficult to find, her scent potent amongst the old pack meeting ground as I allowed my tail to wave, white form aglow in the sun and red shoulders alight as the blue gold of my gaze lit up at the sight of my child.

”Ambrosia!”

I moved to extend my muzzle towards her in the greeting of Angels before pressing forward to wrap my neck about her own in an embrace, stepping back to allow Andromeda to do the same.

”Heyel, I think, would like the name you have chosen for yourself. Dove. It’s a little bird-like for my liking but I can work with it. I have always known my children would make exceptional leaders and that surely one of you would eventually seek to do just that.”

I was pleased after all, lips pulling into a smile all the same as I paused to allow my mate to speak should she desire to do so, even with the thoughts turning within my mind. As I said, there are two ways to take an Angel crown. To be named heir by an Angel Alpha or to take the crown in single combat, for the strongest are those best suited to being our leaders as is the law of nature itself. How Ambrosia had come to have this crown I hardly knew and while surely she had not achieved it through either of the traditional methods I was still assured she had outplayed Covet or taken it from him in some other manner. Yet the lands still seemed so….empty and in that I was curious, why had Isola not returned?

”I am pleased for you, Baby Girl, truly I am though your Mother and I have debated on truly how you came to achieve it, how was it, Ambrosia- that you came to be given Diveen’s crown by one who claims to hate our very family for crimes that never actually occurred? Did you convince him of the truth?”

She was clever, my daughter and I held every faith in that as my gaze rested upon her expectantly.
