Solitaire would not balk at being considered a boy, because he could see what that thought would be there. Maybe he wasn't quite as hardened from his experiences as others might have been, but they still left scars; the bad memories did. Solitaire tried to look at others with blank slates, tried to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes it was difficult to shake the nerves off. And all in all, he's glad that Ambrosia was a kind sort of wolf from what he could see of her. There was no telling what type of wolf he was to meet when Covet had come to talk to him of the situation, and Solitaire had to wonder about that. Personalities were vast things, and Solitaire did not always understand them. He isn't quite sure how he was friends with Malleah, but he was. Maybe it was his sense of wanting to help her heal that did it; it had brought him to her a few times so he could check her wounds and endure her banter and her messing with him. Harmless stuff, really, and he thinks it makes her feel better in some way. His own discomfort had been pushed aside, since he thought it would do some good.

Probably how he had viewed all of this when he had begun walking over to Diveen, though he did notice that Ambrosia was a different sort of wolf. This was a good thing, however, and Solitaire was grateful for it. At least he felt a little more sure that he could do this, that Ambrosia wouldn't be the kind to trigger any trauma in him. She was already considered pretty much an extension of family due to the alliance and everything, and Solitaire knew he would have no touble treating her as such. He would just need a little time to get comfortable around her and visiting Diveen, but he thinks those will happen easily enough. Maybe Tristan would come along with him to meet Ambrosia one of these times. Perhaps after pups were born.. he did not know how busy Ambrosia would be and didn't want to pull her away from business, of course. Or cause her any kind of stress if her workload of alphaness got backed up because he visited out of place. No, he had to make sure his visits would be wanted first, so he would ask. But family was important to him, and he really wanted Tristan and Ambrosia to eventually meet.

Ears curve forward when Ambrosia thanks him for the flowers, and his tail is flicking a little faster behind him, glad that she appreciated the thought of it. "You're welcome." He piped up gently, warmth in his expression. She wasn't treating him as if the notion was silly, and that endeared her to him. Not everyone would understand the act, and some would even laugh at him for it, but not Ambrosia. She was treating him much like Tristan had when Solitaire had returned to Glorall, and Solitaire had needed that then, and he needed it now. His comfort level with the situation was becoming much better, though he was still iffy on the act itself. He already knew he would get along with Ambrosia and have no trouble getting along with her while he was near, and Solitaire was sure that was half the battle. He just wasn't sure what her reaction might be when he explained himself a little more on the subject. That moment would have to come before anything was done.. just so she understood his nerves weren't personal towards her.

Solitaire figured it might be bad form to be asking these questions so soon, but he was really unsure of all the specifics and he didn't want to assume anything about it. That could only lead to badness, and Solitaire only wished to do what was best for all of them. Yes, he wanted to be a part of the lives of the pups to come from this, but if it was too much for Ambrosia or anything, he did not want to impose. What Ambrosia brings up first is the idea to teach someone in Diveen healing, and Solitaire nods at that, more than willing to teach someone how to heal and better take care of others who might need it. Then she was speaking of the alliance and what she knew of it, and Solitaire mulls over the information thoughtfully. He had not been told of the heir part, but he supposed it had made sense to Covet. Then she was speaking again and Solitaire listened attentively. He did perk up as she was saying that he could be a part of the pups' lives, and that was clearly visable on his features. "I would be very happy to be in their lives, and to help you when you need a rest or to do alpha things." He had been hoping Glorall would have litters to watch over this Spring, but this would be better. "And of course I can teach anyone who wants to know about healing and plants." He added, thinking that could be a fun thing as well. Healing was a passion of his, after all. Sharing it with others was always pleasing.
