Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

The woodland was of the most interest to Raptor, and as such, Lex had been lingering in the area more for the comfort of her daughter adapting to Moladion. It was different in some aspects from the places that they had been, and Lex does remember it well. She remembers her life not far from Trenus, the beginnings where her mother had died to save her siblings and herself. Lex doesn't know if she would do the same thing if pressed to choose, but there was a difference in that; Raptor was two and able to help fight off the wrong kind of attention. Lex had been but a pup without enough skill back then to be of much help. Of course partial siblings had taken up the slack when they had found her alone, and taught her what was needed to survive.

And more of her heritage, too. They had done this to keep her informed, not to place her on it's path, but that was what she had finally done. After her years of observing and being more or less the historian of that part of the family, Lex had returned to learn more of what family was left to Moladion and anything of further interest to her here. Eventually she had left again to figure out her life and where she was meant to be. She had given in to her urges in the Winter of two years ago, and knew that she had to keep up the traditions where her mother had failed. And she had, with Raptor. The two year old was doing well, though being in Moladion was just another test to see how Raptor could deal with being different from others.

Lex had never taught Raptor to truly speak, and decided it would be best that her daughter focus on more important things instead of that. There had been no name given to the female until the yearling trials had ended and Raptor had been the victor, and it was one of the very few words Lex was sure she had spoken to Raptor. That name. It had been earned, and from there on they had traveled as a pair. They hunted together, often rested near each other, and only took but a few hours apart from each other at a time before they found their ways back. Often, they weren't far enough away to not be able to call each other from. It was a safe and good way to do it, Lex had decided. Raptor would soon enough tower over her, and it was good to have some bulk on her side, even if it wasn't her own.

It was warm, but her fur was short and coarse, and as such when it grew thicker it wasn't quite as bad as it could have been if longer. It gave her more of an added weight look on ther slender form, but her weight fluxuated during the changing of seasons anyway. She was spry enough to wander through the trees at a brisk pack, taking the hurdles of fallen logs without much of a problem, despite her size or age. Eventually she slowed, drawing closer to another wolf up ahead. Lex had to glance behind her to see if Raptor was still coming along, or if the younger female had wandered off in search of something else to do. They, too, had been den searching, but for a new one (to them), and nothing from the past. Lex hadn't had a proper den last time.
