At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Something about the creature before me seems so intriguing and yet so sad all at the same time. Who is he and where does he come from? What's his life story? He almost seems to be in pain, something in his eyes that reminds me so much of Malice, my old mate. Malice was a complex creature. Other wolves only saw what he wanted them to see, a solitary beast who didn't like company and he liked it that way. BUt once you got past his barriers, you could see the loving creature behind the mask, the wolf who hated himself so much that he didn't think he deserved happiness or love. I was finally able to make him see that it wasn't true and he became the love of my life. Unfortunately it wasn't to be because he went on a hunting mission and got himself killed. I was there with him in those final moments and it broke my heart. Seeing Sylus like this just makes me see Malice all over again. I see another aching heart just burning for someone to get close. He blinks a lot like he's trying to focus on me so I wait patiently. When he speaks, I smile softly and shrug. "Cold Summers is wonderful. It's the only pack I've ever been a part of. I came here for a change of scenery, I guess. A chance to meet new faces. Seems I hit the jackpot today." I try not to let my face show the disappointment that he hasn't given his name yet.
