Laca Blast draws 225 guests including jai-alai and baseball stars Posted on July 14, 2015 at 02:45:19 PM by Jeff "Laca" Conway
The Saturday night Laca blast drew an amazing 225 people over the course of the 8 hour party.
The party featured his 60th birthday and the grand opening of the sports and jai-alai museum.
Baseball Hall of Famer Wade Boggs was in attendance all night, and "The Crime Dog" Fred McGriff also attended.
Jai-alai visitors included Jai-a-Lou and Rocco from Ft. Lauderdale, jai-alai historian Mark K. and Scott King. Local players that attended included Castanos, his son Kyle (who celebrated his 20th birthday that night playing piano with Wade Boggs sitting on a chair next to him!), Corky, George, Rule, Gino, Anthony, Armando, Chip, Javy, Julio, Luis, Neel, Paul H, and Thomas - who celebrated his wedding night at the party.
Guests were treated to an open bar (yes, the lines were long), catering from Carabba's with some excellent food, a spectator fireworks show from the dock.
Otis and his Old School Band played Animal House hits for nearly 5 hours as a few were dressed in toga's to celebrate.
Many played Ping-Pong, air hockey, jai-alai pinball, live blackjack and poker.
But the highlight was the sports and jai-alai museum that Mark K said "was second to none".
Over 660 photos were taken by a professional photographer and we will make them available shortly as a story is getting prepared for the home page of this website.
I would like to thank all those that made it a night to remember. Replies: There have been no replies.
