Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Kellin had decided to go and speak to Sabriel over the few matters on his mind and how things had recently gone. There was so much on his mind lately and he didn't want to do anything without having a clear idea on how Sabriel was handling all the new things that had been going on, and although it had not been spoken, Kellin could see there was something else going on. There had to be something else, because the bright, social creature that Sabriel had once been was no longer there when they saw each other. Nothing had seened as bad as the day that Delya and Dimitri had been seen, and that should have been a good day..

They had to have a talk about that matter as well, though Kellin really did not know how to go about that. So much time had passed and so many things were different. There was no closeness between himself and the other two, and wasn't sure what Sabriel felt about seeing Dimitri again. Something more had been going on though, because there had never been any words stating that Sabriel and Dimitri had any real problems between them. Unless Sabriel never talk about it? But there were words of it being more enstranged than anything, but by distance and Dimitri's going off and about alone, not any actual thing done by either of them.

Kellin had to get to the bottom of the matter, which was why he was looking for Sabriel now. After some hours of roaming, he noted his brother resting near the riverside. Kellin called out lightly to alert Sabriel into knowing he was there, and kept moving forward. His brother had lifted his head up at the sound, but had said nothing. There was only a look and small smile, and Kellin knew he could not leave until he understood what was going on with Sabriel. So he had begin by something easy and mindless, and went into more of what was going on and his thoughts about it, before asking the more personal questions.

Sabriel had been sleeping in the most uneasy of ways, but he was getting by. Some days were better than others, and even those seemed duller than before. He could see color but that's all it really was. Part of him was broken, and he needed to put himself back together in any way he could find. It did not seem like an easy feat of late, but there was a lot going on. Sabriel was trying to bury all the bad thoughts that entered his mind, and even that was quite the chore. He was uneasy with Dimitri and Delya, and couldn't figure out what he had done wrong there. Dimitri had always been high-strung, though. It could be all in the other male's head.

Whatever it was, Sabriel was tired of being put in that kind of position. He was tried of having to be happy and warm and all this and that when life was only giving him the bad side of things. The gypsies were all but gone and did not seem to be returning, and Micteca was more a figment in his imagination than anything real now. Dimitri looked at him as if he were a stranger, and Delya looked afraid of him. Sabriel had done nothing to deserve those things, and it was weighing down on him. He had to do something, and it was getting to the point where it might be pretty drastic when he did. There was no knowing when he would just.. snap.

So when Kellin arrived, Sabriel was quiet and tried to have a smile anyway for the brother who had always been there, and when things went from usual conversation to Kellin's worries and concerns, Sabriel listened and spoke where he felt he could. Then things turned to what was going on with his own life and problems, and only slightly hesitating, he told Sabriel all that had happened in the last few weeks. How it was bothering him and how bad it seemed. How he felt like he was at his wit's end and didn't know what was left for him here.. or anywhere. How lost he felt. And the conversations went on for hours like that, the two of them just talking it all out.
