Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

you are the light to my soul
Steps are light as they travel the well worn path she knows so well, pale eyes admiring the world around her as she takes in the beauty of the changing earth. The way the sun seems to bend and retreat, it's warmth still present but also preparing to vanish with the arrival of winter. Fall was the divide, neither cold nor warm. It gave a beauty unlike any other season despite the fact that everything was dying at the shift. Leaves no longer held such a vibrant green instead they molted into oranges, browns, and golds. Falling off and leaving limbs barren as a gentle winds causes them to stir before her feet. Despite the fact everything seemed to be dying, preparing for the cold touch of winter she cannot help the anticipation of the season most dread. It was by far her most favorite, there was something pure about winter that drew her in unlike any other. Leaving the child counting down the days until the flakes fell from the skies, submerging her into a world of white.

The soft winkle in her nose as she scents lightly at the borders of Spirane, crossing the threshold without worry as her ears flicker slightly at the sounds of the river up ahead. The riverside was not new to the child and she found certain comforts in it's hold. Today would be no different. Pale eyes shift from side to side, seeing nothing but vast wilderness. It was not often she found herself alone among the river, surrounded by nothing but the wild world she lived in. The soft ache in her chest at being alone is short lived as her paws soon step upon the shifting stones that border the rivers edge. Distracted by the sight of the waters as the current forced ripples along the surface. Like always she leans over, pale eyes wanting to seek the reflection she knows that will greet her. A soft exhale escapes as she looks down, even though the image is distorted she cannot stop the soft smile at what she see's. She is bigger than last time, though not by much it still does change her excited at seeing herself grow. She knows she will not be big like Drogon, Vladimir, Illa, or even mother but to know she was still attempting to grow seems to ease her mind. The mirage of colors that decorate her body causes her to pause though, even though she knows that has not changed. The soft cream, layered in reds and roan. Her mind cannot help but wander to the father that gave her this, nothing from her mother had held; her genes dominated by the baron that created her.

For a moment she stills, before she leans down. Pale eyes fixating on the sight as steps forwards, the tips of her paws dipping into the water as her nose touches the surface lightly. As if in some way it will connect her to the parent she lost or the brother that matched her unlike the others. Vladimir and her were the only two who possessed their father to such extremes. To have neither here was a loss the child still feels, yet knowing she had lost her chances of ever seeing her father again she still held out hope that someday Vaddy would return to her. As she pulls back from the surface, a single drop of water dripping from her nose. Ears are pulled as if heavy upon her head as they softly against her head, pale eyes once fixated upon the water are pulled away. Turning her head back as she seeks the peaks that will greet her, a soft smile on her lips knowing of all that dwelled within Spirane and the love she held for them all. For even though she lacked her brothers of blood she had others within reach, so close. Sighing softly at the soothing thought despite the loss she feels, as she sits along the shore of the river. Content in this moment.
