Flaxen Chestnut Rabicano - Egyptian - of the dunes

The sweltering sun, bakes the sands beneath the crimson egyptian's hooves. She had wisely set out across the Dunes in the early hours, her hooves leaving solo set of prints as she traverses the sands. She had hardly slowed her ground covering lope at the border that separates the Dunes from the Desert. A soft breeze ruffles her blonde tresses, flecks of sweat dapple her neck and chest. As the sands turn from soft, into a the sun baked grounds she slows. She raises her dished face high onto her arched nape, her honey colored eyes roam the horizon line. She does not miss any sign that the oasis is near, she looks for the tell tale signs of water. Her nostrils flare, they seek out the sweet scent of water.

With a snort, she stretches her legs out into a lope once again. Her hooves cover the sand in quick succession, her tail waves out behind her. As she tops a dune, she slides to a stop, her head raises high on her nape. In the distance, there was the shadow of a horse. Her honey eyes follow, every once in awhile a nicker would exit the horses mouth. It was barely audible from this distance. Carefully she discends the dune, and trots out after the desert dweller. As she draws nearer, she can not ignore the nagging, that she knows this Teke, his coat darker then hers. She slows as she nears him, then it hits her. The Blind Teke. She halts in her tracks, disbelief written on her chiseled face.

She does not speak, she hopes that maybe he hadn't heard her. She takes a step back. What would she even say to him? Their last meeting had not been the most pleasant. Maybe come to the Desert today had been a mistake. She quickens her steps backwards, she should return home. Then she pauses in her back peddling, a thought crawls into her head. Help him. She cautiously steps forward, she clears her throat. "Salam, I am on my way to the Oasis." She pauses. "Would you keep me company as we walk?" She takes another few steps until she is close enough to see the milkiness in his dark eyes. She inhales. Would he remember her?
