Time. Time seemed to tick on by ever so slowly. Far too slow for her liking. Yet it was autumn and with the seasons changing the days seemed to grow longer and longer. She was not one that measured time by how long the sun was out, but how long the sun was down. She was not a creature that enjoyed the bright golden rays of the sun. She preferred the gentle soft glows from the silver rays that came from the moon. Yet today she was enjoying how the time spent for the sun to be out was being held up by the dark storms that had rolled into the fields and stayed put. Earlier that morning she had been curled up tightly within her den beside her imprint and his mate. Hardly anyone within her small pack requested an audience with her, much the same how wolves on the outside didn’t call for her either. She knew what everyone was waiting for. She was waiting for it too. She had heard that the Queen before Jaidah had died in the aftermath, and yet Tick Tock was not afraid. Rather she simply wanted to get it all done and over with. Building a pack took time and she needed to show to everyone that she was not going to be snuffed out any time soon. She had fought herself to this pedestal and rank and she had every intention to keep it. Not just for herself, not just for Tobias, but for all the wolves that were like her – dark and light – any wolf that walked down a completely different road than the other wolves.
The sun should be up high in the sky by now, but thankfully it remained hidden behind the opaque ominous clouds. Tick Tock had left the warmth and comfort of her den to take a stroll in the thunderstorm. Thunderstorms were always her favorite weather and it would seem that today they would be getting a violent one. The cold rapid falling water didn’t seem to bother her much as she continued walking within the soggy fields. The harsh cold violent winds continued to pull and tug her thick grey and obsidian coat and yet she remained entirely indifferent. Dark azure eyes scanned her surroundings and she did not see another form of life attempting to brave the storm. She shouldn’t be out here either, but she needed to stretch her legs. She had already observed the surrounding area upon a tall hill earlier that morning, but now she was heading back towards it. Her apathetic eyes noticed a familiar shape standing a top of the very hill she was heading towards, but she was coming from behind him.
Half-torn ear would flick back and forth in a curious manner as she silently sauntered up the hill. As soon as she reached the hill she would stand a few feet behind him, her soft growl filling the stormy sky, while the roar of thunder was muted momentarily. This was not a wolf that dwelled within her home, but he did look familiar. When he would turn around the bright lightning would suddenly flash, flickering dark shadows along her scarred pelt, her mauled face illuminated by the flash. A thunderous roar from the clouds above would follow the lightning quickly as the terra firma below their paws shook. Her soft growl continued to rumble within her chest as her dark azure eyes continued to stare at him intently. Her stance was naturally dominant, there was not a muscle out of place, as she stood there in regal fashion. She was not an egotistical creature. Seeing the trespasser should upset her, but she remained indifferent. She was looking for wolves that didn’t fit the natural order of things, and those wolves didn’t necessarily ask for permission to wander in. She would remain standing there with intimidating silence, her half torn ear flickered slightly, as if she were signaling for the male to speak. Surely he had a reason why he was here and she was willing to listen, for now.
