MSA SuperModified Midvale Speedway Action 7/18 Posted on 7/19/2015 at 02:47:16 PM by D
The field was short but there was no lack of action when MSA came to Midvale Speedway.
The first heat saw the 64 of Jim Paller come away with the win .
Second heat it was Jon Henes with the win.
Something broke on the 7 car of Chargin Charlie Schultz that just about put him in the turn four wall but Charlie was able to save it. The crew thrashed and got the car fixed to be able to run the feature.
It was still daylight when the MSA Supers hit the track for their feature.
The 64 of Paller started out side pole next to the 07 of Kevin Jaycox Jr. and was off like a rocket.
Lap 3 saw the 81 of denny Fisher who had started in 4th position get caught up in a jingle that backed him into the wall. He would be out for the evening.
On lap 5 after the restart action was hot and heavy in the middle of the pack. The 7 of Charlie and 22 of McVetta were trying their best to get around the 36 of Jon Henes.
Charlie went in deep on the inside and Mcvetta went outside in turn one.
The outcome wasn't pretty looked like Charlie and Henes bumped and the result Charlie spun and set up a melay in the back of the pack that resulted in the 92 of Larry Lehnert catching a wheel and up and over he went. Larry Lehnert would be ok not so good his car.
After a lengthy delay for track clean up and several cars 7,36.22,31 all headed to the pits for repairs.
On the restart Paller's 64 was still on the point 77,07,5,7,36,33,21 in pursuit.
The 5 of Kevin Shirey would have several problems and would retire to the pit along with the 21. The 22 and 07 would soon follow.
The Paller 64 would go on to win the event with a closing 7 and 36 with the 77 close behind.
Yes, there were only 4 cars there and say what you will but it was an exciting event and the large crowd on hand at Midvale Speedway thoroughly enjoyed the event and expressed their feelings when ask if they enjoyed the event they responded with favorable cheers and Yesses and want them back 2 times next year..
