Kairos scaled the rocks of Susil like she had been born to it, the strength of her father and agility of her mother coupling to form a wolf of admirable proportions who could haul herself up any cliff face with relative ease, despite the clumsiness of youth. Her only hindrance was her stamina, which saw her pause often to rest, little tongue lolling from her red jaws while saliva spilled onto the rocks below. She adjusted her gaze to watch the droplets fall, wondering if she could manage such a jump but deciding against it, having worked so hard to achieve the summit of her rocky hill and not wanting to lose her progress. Somewhere down below her was her den, complete with siblings, Tall Protector and Milk Giver. Somewhere down below her was her family.

And yet, the youngster did not care.

Aside from Zagan, none of the creatures elicited much fondness from her, and the concept of unit was far-fetched at best to the little fea. She saw only others, like her, but who had begun to outlive their usefulness and so were no longer deserving of her blessings. With a derisive snort, she looked to the horizon, black and blue eyes drinking in the scene voraciously. Even the cold wind that ruffled her messy pelt brought her joy, for it was an experience to add to her memories that would live forever, even when she had left earth to rejoin her sisters in the sky. She smiled, knowing how they probably missed her and laughed at her cumbersome, childish form, but the joke was on them. She had chosen her body for what it would one day become and, already the legginess of youth was fading into something both feminine and powerful.

The sun was setting, and the bright crimson colour Kairos so loved was fading into a softer apricot hue which glimmered on her face and ebony blanket splendidly, casting her starkly against the drab gray of the scree around her. She would have been visible for miles, but this fact too did not bother her, for she had never felt fear. Death was but another occurrence that she, and everyone around her, would one day have to face, and time was without essence. Feeling comfortable and warmed by the last rays of the sun, she shut her eyes to better bask in the glory of her home and the wonders of reality.

High above the little wolf an eagle flew, its sharp eyes fixed on the plethora of scenery that glided by below, searching for something. A bright glimmer drew its attention and it soared above the rocks where Kairos stood, relishing the dusk. Its expression seemed to alter slightly, if indeed an eagle's face has the capacity to change, before it circled three times and flew North, its tell-tale cry ringing for miles.

The little Voidborn, spawn of Elijah and Stella, opened her eyes to follow the bird, a knowing mask twisting her features into a wry grin.
